Why not? Good court vision, a knack to get in the paint and get foul, and can shoot. He is what THJ can't be consistently. His IQ is better then all of our guards
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

If he keeps playing like this, I definitely want him on the roster. Whether he starts depends on who else we add.

Ideally, I'd like to see one or two legit PG upgrades -- I no longer think Brandon Knight or Goran Dragic are realistic targets. Maybe something like Cory Joseph/Bryce Cotton or Mo Williams/Bryce Cotton. Then feature Shved/maybe Ricky Ledo as secondary ball-handlers/playmakers at the 2.

He definitely has earned a spot on the roster..I think we need more time to see what happens when he has been scouted..He got frustrated when his shot wasnt falling and pressed to get in lane two games ago against Minny...Let see what happens when other teams runs him off the three..

Shved can play and he always could, but he may have finally been able to relax and just play rather than press cuz he wasn't getting any PT. Obviously Shved is going to be challenged if he's a focal point of the offense but when Melo returns and after we add more threats he won't be the focal point. IMO he's doing a good job most of the time of running the offense and letting things come to him. There have been some occasions where he pressed but not enough to really be worried about. If I had to guess he'd be more lethal with more talent around him. Teams wouldn't be able to focus on him and he'd be able to go one on one. If teams try to run Shved off the line they run the risk of him driving and kicking or getting to the hole.

This offense needs what Shved brings. Good size, handles, passing and play making. He gets to the line and he's been hitting his 3's. Unless we find someone better I don't see why he can't be part of our starting back court. IMO he's good enough that we can spend our cap somewhere else as we have plenty of bigger holes to fill.

Yup the same contenders that have James Harden and Patrick Beverley and the only contender that he ever played for.

I would as a starter. No good Pgs left that we could get and not to mention almost no FA's would want to come to NY.

I'm ok with bringing him back but bear in mind that we'll have to offer him his $4M qualifying offer. And, if he doesn't sign that offer, his cap hold will be something along the lines of $8M.

Shved is the type of player we need in NY. He is heady, looks to share the ball, and is long and athletic. This kid has been balling internationally for a while and won't be fazed by the Garden crowd. His versatility is a hell of an asset that we MUST retain

I dont know if I would trust him fulltime at 30 minutes +, but he looks really good now which should definitely translate as a solid backup.

For us to be a championship team, I think we need to add an old vet at PG. Shevd is good, on a bad team. Reminds me of Lin, when Melo and others were all injured. When the stars return, they are different players. Thats why Melo and this team needs a vet at PG, if we really want to make some noise. Russell might be an exception.

That may be true but also between Shved and Galloway they've both shown some good closing game judgment already and with more time being coached up they might just be able to lead the team effectively. Old vets at one time were young and learning and who's to say when that moment comes when a young vet finally "gets it". I think this system and coaching is good for teaching that kind of decision making because it's in the very nature of the offense to read the defense and learn to make the right decision. Every possession our players have to read and react and that helps to mature the brain and over time will make players better at making the critical decisions.
