Everyone is criticizing Woody for NOT playing Amare in the 4th; what do you think?

If Amare did more than score, he would play more.

We built an 18pt lead on Miami with both Melo and Amare on the floor playing great together.

Late in the 4th what is the point of trying to get stops on defense(which the knicks don't do consistently) when your offense is going 1 on 5 with either JR or Melo?

I ALWAYS get nervous when amare plays in the 4th because he CANT play defense at all! and he cant rebound. BUT tyson was off and amare was playing well on offense. one can argue to keep him in the 4th...just that one time
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I too get nervous that he will fumble a pass that could have been handled, or he will get his shot blocked silly, or he will get stuck and drain the shot clock and of course not pass.

Of those, only the shot block will show up in the stats (advanced as well)

Defense? He should just basket hang, no need to bring him to the defensive side!

I get nervous that JR with the ball in his hands is going to jack a 30ft three pointer and for good reason

JR 18 shots
Amare 7

Miami had no answer for Amare when he immediately made decisions and moved quickly with the ball.

It's when he held the ball they knew where to bring the help to hinder him.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Can anyone clearly explain why when Tyson was in the game, Stat was nearly invisible? When they sat Tyson in the third quarter, Stat went off immediately.

I do not like this.

It's on Woodson to figure out the correct spacing. It would help if Tyson could hit a 15 foot jump shot. I'm guessing the Knicks prefer Tyson on the block grabbing offensive rebs but I rather see Amare start with Melo and Tyson than see JR jack 14 3pters. And be subjected to James "Flight" White

I think the Coach would rather see Amare grab 12 rebounds and play half way decent defense too.

It would help if Chandler would face the rim and shoot a short bank shot. The guys should chip in and send him to the Dream's finishing school this summer. Woodie should make a pact with Amar'e to get a certain number of rebounds, thus keeping him in the game. It's getting desperate.

That 10-12 foot jumper looked like a remedy. I even saw him pass out of the double team. Maybe him and Melo could start a game of catch? Just sayin'...

Tyson might be overrated. The only thing he does really well is the back tip offensive rebounds.

We were a better team in 2010 with Amare & Melo starting. We were swept by Boston but put up a great fight and might've won had Amare not attempted a trick dunk

Start Amare Bench Tyson

I think the Knicks are putting to much emphasis on the bench and not enough on the starting lineup. For me Amare should start.

Melo
Amare
Chandler
Smith
Felton

Coming off the bench

Martin
Kidd
Shumpert
Camby
Novack
Copeland
Prigioni

I think you are overrating Tyson's overrating.

I've never seen so much constant fuss over Amar'e who only does 1 thing fairly well. He's very much Eddy Curryesque and that may be generous

Why aren't we all up in arms over Keyon Martin the Knicks Messiah getting DNP'd yesterday? We were playing the Miami Heat right? Meanwhile they played Birdman their late pickup and had relative impact on the game.

I also don't want to hear too much fuss over Woody he was the great "Father Figure" early on and very few tried to inform the fan base when the games start to become more significant he becomes less significant or exposed. I mean not his fault per say he is what he is a barely above average coach.

Exactly! Amare is so damn overrated out of desperation it is plain sad.

But, at least he made us relevant

Amare getting his shot blocked to the moon by the Birdman was so perfectly telling. He can't catch a pass in traffic, he can't defend, he can't rebound (well) and can't/does not box out. He is still a very good PnR PF but who is our PnR guard? Nobody.

I am glad though that woody is making a better man out of JR though as we see from his tweets
