I predict 46 wins and a 6th seed and lots of excuses. And also much poo-poo-ing of jeremy lin's performance in Houston.

Uh ... I voted for 50-54

Funny how you were all for Melo last year, defending him often. But now that you perceive that the loss of the wonder boy was his fault - VENOM!!

I guess loyalty is not you best trait (outside of basketball)

actually, i pinned the loss of d'antoni on melo and said it was a horrible sign for the future of the franchise and would lead to the loss of Lin, Jeffries, Fields and Novak. and i was kinda right on that count. but hey, who's counting.

I gave Melo plenty of well deserved blame for the MDA fiasco but this happens all the time in sports - it was a bad fit along with bad luck and injuries.

I personally hated MDA because of the weak defense, forcing players baseline for easy dunks and the lack of adjustments. He was also extremely stubborn and was a big part of the feud.

Going back to Kobe and PJax and Magic and paul westhead - sh1t happens.

There are many sides to blame here - but that was yesterday and we are in a better place now. Is it much either to deal with pain and frustration if we can have a villain for a scapegoat? Maybe, if you take this sh1t that seriously then ... to each their own - I guess

yeah, it was a dope move for kobe to get phil jax fired. how did he do that season without him?

look, the knicks weren't winning a championship with any combo around melo. i'd rather have a team based around Lin, Gallo, Shump, Wilson, Fields, STAT, Tyson, Jeffries, MDA. i could root for it. and i don't really think the win total would be that different from what melo will bring us. but que sera.

45 should be close.
We have some star power. Some stars are however the senior citizans of NBA.
So a lot of work for Knicks medical stuff to keep old wrecks going is expected.
We will see a lot of fingers pointing to some dead people who are always the liers.
This will be all MDA, Walsh, and Jeremy Lin fault.
So we should be fine.

i can't help rooting for the knicks. but that doesn't mean i have to think they're well run or going to win a championship any time soon. i'm a knicks fan, but i try to be an objective one. even then i tend to overrate the team. my win predictions are almost always too high and i'm predicting 46. hope this is the first time i'm on the low side since 2000.

i root for america, too. but i do not think it is well run, either, for the record.

A little under 50 wins and a probable second round exit. If we get the right matchup as the 4/5 seed we might lose in the third round instead.

Nobody thinks the knicks are well run - everyone thinks/knows its a joke. I don't think they will win a championship anytime soon and I believe this for most teams. Heck, I never thought the Giants would ever win a championship with Eli Manning (though the Giants are the best run organization in sports IMHO)

I do however think the knicks have the best squad they've had in years and hey, you never know.

And, america might not be well run but what country is? China? Greece? Israel? Syria?

after about 20yrs, the constant horrible decisions start to get to me, re: the knicks.

the grass is always greener if you mean other teams with comparable resources that are much better managed. big market or big spending championship teams since 1990:

bulls: 6 rings
lakers: 5 rings
celtics: 1 ring
dallas: 1 ring
miami: 2 rings
knicks: 0 rings

knicks have the same resources as those other five teams and to my mind should always be in the same conversation with them year in and year out. but they aren't. celtics had a rough stretch, so did miami, so did dallas, so did chicago but they at least REBUILT instead of compounding their mistakes year after year. donnie tried to rebuild but had the keys taken away and the knicks have been headed back to the marbury years ever since.

Rebuild? Donnie started by signed Amare to 100 million while no other team offered him more than 60. Amare was/is a broken down injury ridden uninsurable player who nobody who is "rebuilding" would have gone near.

What about Utah, Denver, Phoenix, Houston, Orlando, Philly ... 5 teams out of 30 have won since 1990. We so far, have not been one of them. It sucks, of course it does - but thats life.

re: the bolded part, LOL, did you forget houston beating the knicks to win a ring? and then winning again the following year?

how did donnie get cap room to sign amar'e again?

and more than 5 teams out of 30 have won since 1990. i left out the pistons, spurs, rockets because those are just well managed teams that don't have the money that comes with the market and owner the knicks have.

so, that's 8 out of 30. or basically 1 out of 3 teams. and the knicks have more money than any other team except maybe the lakers. what does that tell you?
