As I mentioned in the other thread, team rosters fluctuate; they are not static. If (a) if Mr. .470 (Melo) is as easy to move as his supporters say he is, (b) Lin is the better buy, and (c) it's important to avoid the luxury tax, the obvious conclusion is to bring back Lin and move Melo for a shorter contract.

Definitely Melo at 9 years service in the league, 25 point/game, 6 boards, 45 FG%

Lin is the least bargain with his contract being basically $25mill for 25 starts, $1mill/Game Started with the Knicks.

Can you explain the chicken vs. egg context? I do not think you are using that term correctly, as it refers to situations in which it is unclear which event came first and caused an outcome.

It has nothing to do with the size of the contract. Dolan is pissed because Lin renegotiated the contract after the Knicks told him they will match the original 4 years 28m. Its ridiculous but basically Dolan's ego was hurt. Dolan has paid way more for less eg: Allan Houston, Jerome James, Shandon Anderson etc. I doubt he cares about the money.

Who's salary puts them over the luxury tax threshold? I guess all of them right?

You know exactly what I meant. You are pretty much declaring that they are all sending the knicks into the lux tax while ignoring who came first (NOT CHICKEN - EGG like you are making it out to be) but keep deflecting
