I'm really interested to see what the community thinks on this one. He can leap, but dribbles like he's made of wood. He can weave to the basket for throwback layups, but can also throw it up there like he's getting paid to give the other team a rebound. He tries his ass off on D, but still gets schooled by more athletic pros. He has shown he can hit the 3 ball, but gets into funks where he clanks too much. I just don't know what to think about this guy.

this is going to be a difficult one. His value right now is probably as low as it could be....doubt we can even get a 2nd rounder for him. The best I expect is that we package him with another player in a trade. For instance, if by some miracle, we are able to trade Tyson and pieces for Howard(Not that I see this happening), we could include Landry. Otherwise, I don't see anyone wanting him.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I say we keep him, since he'll be affordable ($3m per?)and is a good role player. He is what he is, 2nd round pick that overachieved his rookie year, hit the wall, regressed his 2nd year, but is a good team guy, athletic, and can play guard or small forward in the 2nd unit.

Landry's shot is ugly and he's easy to laugh at. If I told people, though, that following second-year shooting guard were available, they'd think he was worth much more than the LLE.

Per 36 minutes
Points: 11.0
FG%: .460 (TS% = .505)
Rbs: 5.3
Ast:TO ratio: 3.2:1.9
Blks: .3
Stls: 1.5

Other than the shooting %, these numbers are very good for an SG actually. He's a player who is illogically devalued. His worth is much more than the $2 or 3 mil (about one-third to half the average NBA player) he would get paid. That's exactly the kind of FA you should be targeting while other teams go for the less effective, more athletic, gaudier players.

depends on the price. I think they are a couple of things we have to consider before Fields, before we can fully decide.

1) the ruling we have for Lin and Novak's early bird rights

2) If we trade anyone during draft night, who do we acquire on with our own pick(48), if we move up or acquire extra picks
*Assets include, rights to the two 2nd rounders we obtained with Tyson Chandler, Fields, Jordan, Jorts, Novak*

A) A team like OKC, his draft picks, and honestly, they just don't need to get any younger, and add more salary, I would not be surprised if they are looking to trade their pick,
we are lucky we are in the East, because they surely wouldn't look to make any teams in the West stronger.
I propose

Tyson Chander,
Novak(if we win the ruling and can do a sign and trade),
Jordan and our 2 2nd round rights we acquired with Tyson Chandler
*with JR Smith if they want* with anyone else besides Iman

for

Harden
Kendrick Perkins
their late 1st rounder
Sefelosha or Cole Aldrich

B) If we can pull a deal for good potential players with our assets, as low risk/high reward for players like, or use part of our MLE

1) Donte Green
2) JJ Hickson
3) Terrence Williams
4) Flynn, Oden, Hollins

3) I think we MUST keep an eye on this draft and do a great job scouting, we need to find cheap talent(it doesn't get cheaper than this), we need to see who will fall out of the draft, and quickly invite whoever we think has great upside and/or ready to contribute. Using a portion of the MLE to acquire cheap talent for 2-3years so we have bird rights

A) Darius Johnson-Odom, Jae Crowder, Henry Sims, Hollis Thompson, Scoop Jardine, and whoever else we could somehow acquire....

4) What portion will Lin take, if JR Smith opts out(do we resign for 20% extra), Novak(if we have his early bird rights, what would he cost) and Fields (what would he cost)

5) We have to see where we are at salary wise, if we still have the MLE, and/or Bi Annual exemption, since we could be approaching 69-74( by 70m to 74, we lose the MLE, getting whatever is left, or if we go over it, we get the mini MLE at 3m, but we lose the BAE, if we are above the 74m tax payer bracket with or without the MLE)

6) We would be very close to the 70-74m payroll as taxpayers, but if we are over 74m, we lose a the ability to acquire much needed talent, and every dollar makes a difference.

A) If we can somehow still maintain our MLE and BAE how many roster spots do we have left

B) Decide who and what positions are invited to training camp that weren't drafted, that we would keep

C) If we still have a need for Fields, I WOULD NOT lose the ability to lose our MLE and BAE, if we had to decide to keep Fields or anyone

1) Fields isn't a SG, he is a SF and if he improves his shot, which is very possible, he could be a huge steal, but truth is, he wouldn't find much minutes at SF, unless he improves his shot

2)TD's contract could be the difference here with Balkman *OMG*

BRIGGs, how do you feel about this plan and for the low risk/ high reward players in

1) Donte Green
2) JJ Hickson
3) Terrence Williams
4) Flynn, Oden, Hollins

While Tyson Chandler/Novak and change for Harden and Perkins might change our defense, whenever adding a player of Hardens caliber would be intriguing.
This could allow OKC to not worry about paying 2 more max contracts or near max with Ibaka and Harden, while adding players that play a better team game, with Novak's ability to spread the floor with Durant, and Westbrook to create shots for him.

Tyson Chandler >>> Perkins, but Perkins has post moves and can hit a 17footer, so he could work better with Amare and Melo.
I don't think they would actually give us a 1st round pick with it or even Cole Aldrich, but I really want Darius Johnson-Odom.

Is this deal totally lopsided? Any shot, if OKC gets beat by the Spurs, as a much less talented team but much better team work/chemistry?

Hickson yes, but over budget probably.
Hollins absolutely.
The rest of those guys can find another suitor IMO.

if it is for that salary, I would like to keep him, if we can maintain our MLE and Bi Annual Exemption by not exceeding a payroll of 74m as a taxpayer.
It would be tough to choose between Jorts, Fields at that salary though, and JR Smith.

if we could only have keep 1, or if JR Smith opts out do we resign with a 20% raise with Iman's injury, or the upside of Jorts, even if it is 2 out of 3 it would be tough to decide

I like the knicks and have a hard time shytting on them when they have problems.

I think since melo came he does not get to shoot in the spots he did better in.

My hope is he hit a sophmore slump and with no lockout can work in the off season in manner that promotes his game.

I like this kid!

If he has hit his ceiling then I'll wish him success.

Same for Tony Douglas.

That was just a figure. He will command much more than that second round salary. He is easily worth over 2.5 elsewhere at bottom pricing. Good point about him not being a solid 2. He could fit in much better at the 3 on many teams.

He's an SG without a jump-shot. They exist. You aren't getting Ray Allen in his prime for one-third the MLE. We need to stop thinking we can get lots of excellent players and start asking which scraps are good deals. Getting a guy worth $2 mil (and therefore a useful but significantly below average player) for only $1 mil is a great deal.

Without a jumpshot and who cant defend other sgs and turns the ball over way too much because he is not a ball handler which is a must for a guard unless ur a spot up 3pt shooter which he clearly isnt. You dont think Lins life is made easier playing with a legitimate ball handling sg?

Hickson was a beast when given PT at Cleveland but wasn't giving much trust and PT at the Kings, while giving up assets for him.
Yeah, Hickson produced once again, when given minutes down the stretch in Portland, I don't know what is wrong with the Kings for not giving him PT.
I don't think Hickson would be cheap, since he has produced for 2 teams, when given the opportunity.

But this is why I am also giving the benefit of doubt for Donte Green and Terrence Williams, since they do have 4 players that are under contract that they feel need to play before
developing these players.

Donte Geene is 6'11 with 3point range, good athleticism and length, i know he has developed as planned but the Kings are the Kings.
They have plenty of players that they can play over him, his versatility enables him to play SG, SF, PF, and could be a Wilson Chandler 2.0, I think its a great low risk/high reward.

Terrence Williams, once drafted in lottery, and then traded for 2 first round picks, but he seems to have troubles because many teams have past on him since.
He does have guard skills with G/F size, skills in which we can really use. I am intrigued by his skills for his size but I guess so if so many teams dropped him, he must have issues
(just like Lin did)

Flynn we have to have constant players that can have the ability to penetrate, while I wouldn't give up much for him, he is another low risk/high reward
If we are able to add Darius Johnson-Odom, I would be less entertained to add a player like Flynn, with our cap situation, and maybe rather have a veteran minimum player like
Delonte West, Mike James, Gaines, or Keyon Dooling.

I really hope we can acquire Darius Johnson-Odom, Jae Crowder, and Henry Sims, with Odom as a MUST ADD if we can swing a deal for him, doubt he will be there at 48.

Landry did shoot 39 percent from three in his rookie year. I'm not saying he'll do that again, but I'm pretty sure he'll rebound from this year's percentage. It was a strike-shortened season and many players had a tough time finding a groove. I'd definitely re-sign Landry on the cheap.

I say keep him. I don't see us acquiring a better option.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The Kings are the Kings, but at 6'11" the dude can't rebound. And at 6'11" he is not Wilson Chandler, and is def not a 2 guard.

Just don't think he's worth the risk for the big time Knicks. He has hops and athleticism, but just isn't producing or showing any signs of major improvement other than his FG% with the Kings.

If we get the early bird right decision we have enough $$ for a Courtney Lee or Danny Green. Better options IMO.

You think Sefelosha is the deal breaker?
He starts, with players like Westbrook, Harden, Durant, all capable of playing that position.
Truth is, you don't want to tire out your "stars" ability to score, to defend the opponents stars.
We have 2 players to worry about in the East, Wade, and Lebron, so Iman guards one.
And it is a luxury to have these type of players, look at how Iman went down, and how we had no answer on Wade or Lebron defensively.

Come on, Harden is a G/F that can penetrate, score, and break opponents defense down.
It is obvious why Tyson Chandler, Amare, and Melo do not mix with each other.
With Perkins, you at least get a player that can play some defense, post up, and hit a 17 footer.
While Harden, is far more superior to Amare, he can open up his game with his ability to score.
Harden plays Point/Forward over Westbrook, for a reason.
If you ever watch OKC play, he actually utilizes his team mates, as weapons, to go with his ability to penetrate and shoot.
He connects with Nick Collison all the time, with the PnR.
He is one tough cookie and if we can have players like Harden, Lin, and Darius Johnson-Odom, it will open up the games for Amare, Melo, and anybody.

OKC might not even consider this but hey, Tyson Chandler would be the only player on our roster they would actually be interested in, as DPOY.
Novak would also fit right in OKC, on the other side of Durant, they just have to swing the ball.
I am not saying this is a deal that is a must do for OKC, but it would make sense, since they don't want to pay 4 players MAX salary or close to it, while turning Perkins to DPOY.

Durant
Westbrook
Ibaka
Harden

can they afford to pay all players max, while paying Perkins 7-8m a year?
Can they afford to use the MLE and Biannual Exemption? They will eventually be much over the 74 million tax bracket if they decide to keep their youth together....
I am saying this is something they at least would consider, especially if they lose to SA.
