Gave him a B+. Couldn't give him an A because of the Jordan Hill pick and because of the chance that the rumored Jeffries + Nate to Sacramento might have been real and we could've kept our draft pick.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

I had a feeling he'd be rated much higher here than I thought he deserved. The Melo trade has been discussed already and that supposedly was Dolan anyway. So really the biggest moves Walsh did were to give away picks and clear cap space so that we could offer Amare $100 mil. The Chandler signing was the next biggest decision and that definitely partly helps to off-set the loss of picks and Amare signing but only partly. I don't see anything great that he did. He didn't do anything terrible either. He got us back up to the middle of the league (.500) at least. So I gave him a C.

Walsh gets a B+ from me, simply because for a couple of years he changed the culture of the Knicks, from laughing stock and joke of a franchise, to an actual professional team, with a clear strategy and plan in place. Before he came here we were an absolute disaster- the worst organization in sports. He fired IT, and brought in a level head, treated the media well, protected his coach and made classy moves like bringing back Allan Houston and John Starks- actually reconnecting us with our successful past.

Sure I didn't agree with some of his moves, but I could always see the reasoning behind them, and he was always the first to admit a mistake. Even the hiring of D'Antoni made sense- I never liked him as a coach and thought he was the wrong coach for NY, but he did help inflate our players values, and make us a more desirable team for free agents.

He was a really classy guy, and helped right our sinking ship.

i give him a B+ for being a breath of fresh air and changing the culture from isiah's time. getting rid of the bad contracts, cleaning up the cap, drafting some solid young players: gallo, fields, mozgov, shumpert, toney, jorts, jerome jordan.

the jordan hill pick is the big blemish on his record. that led to the jeffries/hill for mcgrady trade.

otherwise, i was happy with walsh. part of me still wants to see how he would've handled the melo deal and kept rebuilding the team. the other part of me is ready to move on.

I don't disagree with that but I don't think that warrants a B+. Don't wins and losses have to count too?

Walsh is a stud GM. Dolan is just to hands on with this team. He remembers me so much of Jerry Jones. This team will have a hard time winning Champions if this continues. The Knicks front office before Walsh's arrival was like a secret society. I am not even sure if J West would've survived the Dolan.

A+ for Walsh. The previous 7+ years were dreadful. We're relevant again.

I have him an A. I think he played the Melo trade correctly till Dolan got involved. I have no issues about trading scrubs like Jordan Hill. Only issue I had was giving Amare all that money. Should have offered him $75MM guaranteed for 5 and dated him to take less guaranteed money from the other teams.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I gave him an A. Just minor stuff for why he fell... namely letting Pringles gush freely about Westbrook and Curry.

smackeddog nailed why he gets an A from me. A+ and A are both 4.0s so whatever.

I gave him a B-. The few things I din't like, Not reaching out to the Jazz for D will, Not handling the Steph and MDA situation, jordan Hill pick...other than that, he did a pretty decent job..

One thing i have to say..He redeem himself for the hill pick by drafting shump

All GM's make mistakes. Dude got an A cuz he set the franchise right.

ITs not like he wiffed on a top 5 pick on Jordan Hill.

Please man...there is no way you can rationalize giving the man an F.

Would hate for him to be named the new GM of the Brooklyn Nets.
