If you are going to be honest, it's one of the better front court if not the best in the league...Problem is we have a coach who run a mostly back court oriented system...If needs an above average PG and spot up shooters...Our starting backcourt is probably the worst in the league...We don't have an NBA worthy PG on the team...

I don't think this is the worst back court- its decent and Phil Jackson has proved you can win with decent pieces.

Last night, there was a play where Shumpert came around a screen or pick at the top of the key, got open for a decent 15 footer, and took it. Not sure if he missed it or not, but he had an opening in to the lane he could have taken.

But, MDA with his take good, open shots and win on volume encourages these players to take the first open shot, and not necessarily penetrate into the lane.

A different coach and philosophy gets more out of this line up, back court and front court included.

I think it's between option 2 and 3 - above average front-court but nothing special and one of the worst back-courts. If Baron Davis is unable to contribute, I think the team will be right around .500 at the end of the season. If he is fully healthy, I think 38 and 28 would be in reach but still don't see either Amare or Carmelo as being the top player on a championship contending team.

Agreed with the bolded part. The front court is just not being utilized right. When you have one of the strongest SF's in the game; and one of the stongest/atheletic pf's in the game, and yet they continue to hang out on the perimteter, there is something wrong with the philosophy.

MDA like to keep the paint open for drives and kicks. Who on this team can penetrate right now?! Who on this team can consistantly knock down jumpers if the ball is kicked out to them?!

I can't think of a stronger front court, if we are talking NBA 2k12, the hit video game.

But look, listen, how is this in the real life? Not so good.

I do think with the right driver it can be a special thing, but where is this driver? It is like you have some fancy car but you don't put tires on it, or maybe no engine.
