How many of you guys would trade Amare, Fields, TD, and Jorts for Ray Allan and KG?

KG would compliment Tyson Chandler and anchor our defense to another level.
With KG and Ray Allan at their age, would Boston consider forming another Big 3 in

Rhondo
Pierce
Amare

not sure if Paul Pierce still has good value with his contract and age.
I wouldn't be surprised if Pierce gets amnestied next year and Boston will look to rebuild in the summer
with FA's and decide who they will keep with KG/Allen or both...

Ray Allan looks great this year, at his age of 37-38, he is looking for an extension and it wouldn't be cheap.
Our worse case scenario is loosing our young lings and we allow KG/Allan to walk while being under the cap again this summer.
It could put us in the hunt again for another player? Dwight Howard or Deron?

So I think its a decent deal if Boston is willing to take a risk on Amare's contract.
I think Boston will ask for Iman though...

I thought this thread was going to be about Rondo. He's the only one you give up an important player for at this point.

Agreed...

Our problem is a point guard right now...No need to panic..Let see if BD has anything left in the tank...Bringing back Felton next year is a must...

This has to be one of the worst trade proposals I have ever seen from both a basketball perspective and a fan perspective. You are giving up youth for aging vets who are steps away from retirement. You are also trading for part of the core of a Boston team.

No thanks.

LMAO wtf!! I would not trade Amare for anyone on that team unless We got Ray Allen and Rondo and a first round pick and Brandon Bass. I would MAYBE consider that.

KG > Amare
Ray Allen is still one of the best shooters in league

Chandler + KG would be sick defensively and his shot consistent.
KG is fine with playing defense and being 2nd 3rd option, he doesn't need to score to be effective.

They are both expiring contracts this summer as well.
Everyone complains about Amare's uninsured contract and while KG and Allan are no longer young, they learned to play with their brain and adjustments already.
They are still top players in their position.

My opinion, without giving up Iman, its a no brainer for the Knicks.
Worse case scenerio, we contend this year and go for the around a max player in the summer.

Fields is a unrestricted FA
TD
Jorts

they are good role players that will improve but the way they both play, i can see how it can disrupt chemistry.

I'm just amazed at the lack of respect Amare gets around here given what he has done for this organization...

Why would you break up the best frontcourt in the NBA who are all in their primes right now?? For KG(35 yrs old) and Ray Allen(36 yrs old)??? Just when the team is starting to jell and roll right now, you're thinking of breaking that up? Amare > KG right now and it's not even close.

KG also takes pressure of our guards, anchors our defense, is a better shooter, and post player than Amare.

Ray Allen shot is still $

Baron Davis
Ray Allan
Melo
KG
Tyson

Iman
Balkman
Bibby
2.5m exepmtion
JJ
Jordan
Novak
Lin

You guys complain about

Amare's uninsured contract
TD lack of skills
Amare's defense
lack of ball movement
Fields inability to play SG

and then complain about this proposal unless you get an absolute no brainer steal trade that have less then 5% of happening...
This would answer many of our problems and change our identity back to the half court defensive old school Knicks.
It also gives an identity to the team and makes the roles of our players much more clear

We would have the Bird Rights for KG and Ray Allan it allows us to be competitors this year and have salary for around a max FA in the summer
making S&T possible, KG - Ray Allan would not get more than a 2-3 year extension

Fields
TD

Jorts

only person majority of people want to keep hear is Jorts but seriously
no one cares for Fields since he is a UFA this summer and TD play has been horrendous

Its not a great trade for Boston either, but in the right scenario, depending on how they continue to play, is something they should consider
It allows them to have

Rhondo
Pierce
Fields
Amare
Bass

Dooling
Marq Daniels
TD
Jorts
JO
STYMSMA

while Pierce can be amnestied and they can sign FAs in the summer.
Question is would they be better off keeping KG and Allan and possibly leting them walk or resigned for another 2 year deal.
They might be past their prime but they are still top players in their position

Did you not see how Amare has been making our opponents look like All Stars?
Name me players that are better than KG at the PF
Name me players that are better than Ray Allan at the SG, besides Wade, Lebron, and the no brainers that no one would trade..

We are made to win now mode and its a chance to lose Amare's uninsured contract that many of us would be complaining about if he ever went down in the next 2-3 years.

No thanks.

its a message board and I expect controversy...
We all have different opinions and ideas for the benefit of the Knicks
Since last year, starting with the Heat forming superstars of trios, we will continue to see "all star" talents forming.
I want to make a defensive team that is capable of defending these super teams and prevent more of these trios from forming...
Did we all forget how Amare made our opposing PF's look like all stars during this stretch?
Tyson Chandler needs a sidekick to defend with him.
Amare isn't that type of player and that is what it comes down to, with ATM eating up the all of our cap, something has to give...

It's not a horrible move that Chuck and Oasis appear to believe is.

Unless Iman was thrown in the trade, I can see why anyone would disapprove of the deal.
Boston can have a salary of under 20million if they amnesty Pierce.
They are probably better off not trading for Amare and try to resigning KG and Allen to 2 year deals

Allen 8m range per year
KG 10m range per year

It would be scary if they add Dwight Howard and subtract Pierce
Depending on how much KG and Ray Allen would cost, they can probably sign another player to go with them as well

Rhondo
Ray Allen
SF
KG
Dwight

If we do trade for KG and Ray Allen we would have their bird rights, that teams might even give back assets to us for...
We can go after Deron or Dwight Howard possible, making us a more balanced team.
I would appreciate some more positiveness from the proposal instead of replying to me like I am retarded...

This. There is a lot of stuff that gets thrown out here that amazes me but the lack of respect for Stat is unbelievable.

After the Melo trade, do you really believe how we screwed Felton shows the loyalty we have for our players.
Amare wanted a max deal and he got it, its business...

Spencer Hawes was a player that I thought we could use to play PF/C, but the way he is playing this year, it doesn't look like MLE is going to cut it...

Tyson Chandler
KG
Iman

I think that is a pretty sick defensive nightmare, that are all on the same page about the game.
They all bring that intensity and pride, I have missed the Knicks lacking since the Ewing era...

Camby could be brought back as the bench as well.
If Baron Davis comes back and plays well....
Anyone know if we can use the 2.5m exemption to keep Baron Davis for an additional year, and giving him a little extra bonus if we cant sign anyone worthy?

Just curious if Boston breaks down....
