My personal opinion is that Barea play's the pick and roll more effectively with his quickness and hold to defend because he is small, and quick, and surprisingly strong.
Barea is not a high volume shooter
Barea is a good 3 point shooter
Barea penetrates and scores in the paint.
Barea is younger and showed it all year and hit clutch shots in the game and playoffs.
Dirk, Terry, Barea were all 3 crucial and were the 3 go to guys on Dallas last year to finish the game.
Barea stay's in front of his guy, allowing the help defense to come.

Crawford take's bad shots but can hit them. Which can be good or very bad...

Can throw the alley hoop better than anyone on our team, besides Iman *we don't know for sure how effective his passing game is*
His defense is matador as Clyde would say, although he is taller than Barea, he doesn't stay in front of his man as well as him.
The way he could hit or miss shots, can kill team chemistry. It can also cause Melo and Amare to play for the spotlight.
He has become a lot more team oriented, he still take's bad shots, even though he is capable of make them, but not nearly as much as when he was a Knick.
His age is a very big question, many players his age go downhill, however, it's not something we can predict. However, it must be a con we must consider.

I would prefer a even more team oriented offense.
I am afraid Jamal can cause that 1v1 play that Melo did a lot. My concern is that it can cause a multiple effect with our offense being stagnant and 1v1 play's with

Dantoni's SSOL system, is suppose to be used starting with the pick and roll to facilitate the offense.
It's used to earn the step for a player and to take the a good shot and spreading the floor.
It is not a 3 point shooting contest that some believe it is...

1) Jamal is what we need. Even if we lost the exemption to sign Shawne Williams or Ak47. Losing TD, Fields.
2) Jamal is a luxury, would not do it if we loss the exemption to sign Shawne or AK47. However, would do it if we it was

8) his defense is a big weak link. However, he this is the first time he play's with big center for pick and rolls of Tyson Chandler's size and presence. Think it will work if we don't give up anyone and keeping our 2.5 exemtion
10) Big Liability and wouldn't do it if we lost players or the 2.5 exemption
