I think the players made a fair offer that would give the league stability. The owners have not really moved off of their position, and the players are never going to agree to a hardcap or non-guaranteed salaries. THe current system works and simply needs to be tweaked. The owners are trying to use the recession to give themselves a sweetheart deal that will provide them huge profits once the economy gets going again. The owners need to move more towards the middle and get a deal done.

Too simplistic a poll. Negotiations involve middle ground, but this poll offers none.

I support abolition of guaranteed contracts AND the salary cap. I also support tying player contracts to actual performance benchmarks. I support players having the ability to negotiate profit sharing agreements on top of salary if they find themselves in position to do so. Only certain caliber of players with broad bard demand would get this type of deal.

I don't support any kind of structuring that tries to create " balance" for small market teams. This is business, it's not a welfare state. If you want to own a team be prepared to make a profit or die trying. I think the lottery should be abolished, teams should simply choose based on record. Ban trading draft picks or require having at least two rookie contracts on your roster at all times.
