MDA deserves at least 1 year with a consistant roster and talent.

I was happy when we signed him. I do like the way he is somewhat candid, but over the last three years, the accusations that D'Antoni doesn't coach defense have proven true. Maybe that is too strong- but we give up too many career shooting nights to opponents for it to be strictly personnel- some of it is on the coach & his defense system, whatever that is.

Also- whether you like MDA or not, I think there is a disconnect between the players he is happy with, and the players management has gone out and gotten & think can contribute.

There has been turnover, but MDA has done a horrible job of experimenting with players, and developing players. MDA struggled to work AC into the line up - we need a coach that can maximize our talents on the squad, not stick to his own system.

1. How do you experiment when trying to make the playoffs?
2. AC is a career backup and played in more games and had more minutes with the Knicks then he did in Denver this year.
3. Name one player on the Knicks with talent that didn't get run.

I'm indifferent. I see he was willing to change alittle when we got 2 stars. I wish he would stop being so stubborn and embrace a defensive minded assistant coach.

If he isnt then he can bounce.

Im even willing to give Mark Jackson a shot here. Assuming he gets experienced assistant coaches around him.

You don't give people 'a shot' at being head coach for the Knicksespecially when you have two starts in their prime and play off expectations. You get someone who you know can do the job. There is no eveidence of any kind that Mark Jackson can coach. Please let's not discuss wannabes for a position that some of the most recognized names in the business can't handle.

If Mark Jackson seriously wants to be head coaching he should be assistant coaching. He's got no grounds for thinking he's above that.

Bring in any coach who knows how to teach defense and draw up viable plays after timeouts

You think Mike Brown is a good coach?

I dont think Mark Jackson would be any worse.

I think Mike Brown is a pretty decent coach. Definitely knows how to coach Defense.

D'antoni gets the benefit of a training camp, and the beginning of a new season. If he starts going downhill, Phil Webber becomes the interim and we prepare ourselves for a marque coach for the 2012 season.

His teams have come out of training camp and lost at an incredible rate the past two years. I am not sure what happens in his training camps but he doesn't decide on a rotation and make adjustments in camp. He does it after about 13 games. One of the things that really bothers me about him is how unprepared his team is coming out of training camp.

This organization cannot afford to waste any more time with Mike Dantoni. Another training camp followed by another regular season will only produce the same non defensive minded results.

Let him go this week, and this team instantly frees themselves from his failed and unproven principles and can continue to get better as a unit.

Simply put:

D'Antoni + Defensive Coach = OK.

D'Antoni alone = No thanks.

Other coach that values defense and big men = Hell yeah!

Interesting were you will get a coach who can make this team embryo to play defense?
First somebody should build the team. And Mike did it already a couple of times in NY. And it wasn't bad considering the crap he get to work with.
Now we have some material to do something and you want to start experimenting again. May be let's bring Isiah back for some entertainment?

He has been in NY for three years. His many faults, and weakness have been on display for a long time. I am not sure why the injuries of the past week excuse the futility and incompetence of three years.

dude, what were your expectations for the first 2 years? Playoffs? This I got to hear. Compliment your analysis with all of the trades that happened during that time period.

Grass is always greener.

Maybe a lessor coach does not do so well?

Lets sign all our coaches to 1 year contracts! New coaches are so much fun!

We can mix and match them!

Why no more "Bring back Riles"?
