Are the Nets really out of the picture or has Prokhorov changing the tone of the saga as it cant' really stay on its present course for another month the way it was.

Im pretty sure the Nets have been knocked back by Carmelo, and this is their way of saving face and backing out without looking like the utter fools they are.

I don't think Prokhorov was lying. I mean the guy was directly asked in the press conference whether he would still revisit the deal if Denver came with a counter-offer and Melo agreed to sign the extension, and his response: "I think I was absolutely clear on this matter."

From the actual interview, he didn't look or sound like a guy who was just trying a negotiating ploy to drive down the price. He sounded like someone who was sick of all the misinformation and his team getting strung along for 5 months, and put his foot down on it.

He's not lying. Writing was on the wall and he made a grandstanding play to save face. Billionaire's with toys don't want to be embarrased by NBA Super Stars who used to have cornrows. Prok is out. Melo will be a Knick.

no way is he lying... he disrespected Denver's management style in very public forum. That's not a way to get a deal done
