Taken from the end of this article on Randolph potentially losing spot in rotation http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knicks/growing_pains_cBPc7tkDbvfqwtpcxxjuhO?CMP=OTC-rss&FEEDNAME=#ixzz12QrjZzOS

The Knicks still are treating Stoudemire like he's a plate of glass ready to shatter because they don't want to overburden him in preseason. He also could sit out practice after back-to-back games.

"We're paying him a lot of money," D'Antoni said. "He's had injuries. We don't want to be crazy about it. And play him back to back when you don't have to."

I tend to agree with not playing Stoudemire on back to backs. It's not worth risking his knees and might make us a better team in the end.

So, do you play Stoudemire on back to backs?

they're talking about in the pre-season. i have no problem with this. they're resting him for the real season when he's going to carry a ton of responsibility every night for this otherwise young team.

Yeah he doesn't need to play every preseason game. It actually might help our other players grow with him off the court so they can learn to make plays by themselves. Chemistry is good but a lot of our players need to work on their individual games first.

of course you play him (I assume your talking regular season?). In the last 4 years Amare has missed 3 games. THREE games aside from the weird eyeball thing. He played 82 games last year and heavy minutes down the stretch and was probably the best player in the NBA 2nd half of last year. Durability is zero concern at this point as far as the knees.

Its preseason and Amare is playing at an extremely high level. We need to work out other things, like rebounding and the guard play. I think this is a good opportunitiy to see some alternate lineups. Looking forward to it fact.

Watching the way Amare destroyed KG or anyone else who tried to guard him his minutes should be limited anyway. He should be getting about 25 minutes a game IMO. Basically play him with your starters for a long stretch to start the first and 3rd qtrs.

No problem sitting him in preseason. He's at the top of his game and doesn't need extra work. It will also give the number two and three guys a chance to step up and shoulder some responsibility. I don't get the feeling that the knicks are remotely considering doing this in the regular season
I just hope that people will like me

No problem with him missing a practice every now and then, or giving him some breaks in pre-season, but he has to play back to backs during the regular season.

How many do we actually have? If we have 5+ b to b games, I don't think we can afford to keep him out of that many games if we want to make the playoffs.

This obviously meant preseason. lmao at resting him in reg. season games. This team can't afford that luxury if we want to push for the playoffs.

I answered yes for the regular season. This is pre-season so I think this is a good thing.

To me I'd want to preserve his knees by having him be the primary guy on box outs and staying on his feet for the rebound (like what David Lee did). Let Timo/Randolph/Chandler go for the block.
Rose is not the answer.
