Who gets the last spot on the roster?

Clearly training camp is where the competition happens, but ahead of camp, who do you think is not only the best player, but also best suited to this system and fills a need on the roster?

That is, if you had to choose today, who would be your 15th man?

(Note: This thread title can be read as "13th man" if you count Curry and Rottens as the bottom of the bench )

I think Landry is probably the best suited based upon his versatility and the fact that he played with the team last year. However, Landry Fields brings a similar vibe.

+1 on this and the Fields comment.

An improved performance by Fields during preseason will probably make Landry and Baby Ewing expendable, and Walsh will look to add another big or a guard.

Ewing Jr because the spot is worthless anyway and we need some good karma.

Im concerned with our bigs. If we look at who we can play at PG/Wing not including Gallo and randolph

Felton
Douglas
Walker
Azubuke
Chandler
Fields
Rautins
Mason JR

Up front we are rail thin and we haev no idea if Mosgov is an NBA player. Its a no brainier we need a big.

Gallon. I know he's slow but we may need to slow down on some possessions.

If Rautins shows nothing--maybe we move in that direction--but I think we need a guy we can count on to play now. Im very surprised they did not get Barron as back up---not many 7 footers can really hit that mid range shot.

fishmike... lots of reasons.

I pick up chicks. Some are hot. Some are fat... but all are female, so there is that.
I can strike guys out. I throw that cheese like I got nothin, till the count is 1-2. Then I bring all 79mph of my sunday warior I'm loaded on ibuprophen (arm candy) LIGHTNING and whif some mutherphuckers. Except (insert racism) those little hispanic guys. Hate them. Give me angry black guys and jacked up white guys with long massive swings ANY DAY. Its the little hispanic guys... like 5'5 148lbs of them smacking all your good pitches foul. Just hit them... save yourself the frustration. I wish I had more of them on my team!

I approve of morally loose behavior.

Def worth roster spot 15

Yeaa..... kick ass

I think we scored on Fields. He's going to be a good basketball player and if he works hard on his jump-shot and ball-handling--could be very good player. Like how he tries to get to the hoop at any with any little opening. He does have work to do but I suspect hes a hard worker.

Patrick Ewing, Jr. Why? We are going to probably include Gallo and/or Chandler in a trade at some point within the next year, so we need to develop a SF. Thus, the choice is between Ewing and Landry. While is a close call, I go with Ewing simply in the hopes that it will lift whatever curse we have been under since we traded Ewing.

Douby is better than Routins. Of that list Ewing Jr. is the guy that should be kept.

The 15th roster spot basically is a practice squad. These guys aren't gonna be active in games unless there's an injury. Ewing Jr. excites me more than any of the other players on the list. Ager has proven to be marginal. Douby can shoot, but his confidence has been short and he's not a PG. Landry is an ok player, but A) he's not on the team and B) I like Ewing Jr's energy/activity on the court more. I think Ewing Jr. is cut from the JYD cloth and will be a useful guy to have in practices as well as a guy who could provide a spark at times. He fits really well as an energy go on an uptempo team.

I think we need a player that can bang a little bit - thus I'd venture to say a Landry or PEjr would do best in that role. We have a whole lot of guards. I suppose part of this depends on our comfort level of Tony Douglas playing quality minutes at PG, as well as that of R-Mase Jr. We've got all sorts of options at the wing positions - it's a matter of which of them are versatile enough to show some PG skills or big man skills.

There are those 5 minute stretches of games where you might need to call on 13-15 on your roster to contribute.
