My answer is NO--not even if Lebron James came here. I don't even think we need a player like Joe Johnson with Chandler and Gallinari--it's the easiest position to fill in the NBA. Id like to concentrate my money[the bulk] on either LBJ
or big men Lee Bosh Stoudemire

or saving it for 2011

I still can't believe he turned down 4/60

I don't think he's worth even that much. If he is all we get then we still won't even make the playoffs. (Would probably see Harrington walk and Johnson brought in and cap space preserved).

Yet if we can pair him with someone then maybe it'd be just fine at 5/80. Absolutely no more.

Now, as to Chandler, Gallo, Lee, Harrington, Walker, (Joe), (Amare), (Bosh), (LBJ).... well, yeah, we're going to be making decisions. I don't even see how you bring back Lee, Chandler, Gallo, Harrington, Walker anyway. We've already got a log jam.

And I'm still saying it's Chandler that's the odd man out in a trade.

BRIGGS, you are so on the money with that. It's the reason why I've been saying all year that I would not be disappointed if we came out of the off-season with Lee and one of Bosh/Amare. To me, that is still a successful off-season because of how difficult it is to get two highly skilled front-court players of that caliber.

People keep saying Curry and Zach didn't work, well of course they didn't. We've realized over the past few seasons that nothing would have worked next to Curry. Curry is not on the level that Lee/Amare/Bosh are. You put any of those 3 next to Zach right now and you end up with a very strong front-court.

SG is one of the harder positions to fill in the NBA especially SG's who can create off the dribble.

The positions in demand in the NBA now are C, SG, and PG. Many SG's in the league cant shoot.

I dont think Atlanta lets Johnson leave for 5 million especially since they immediately become irrelevant.

I wouldn't give joe 5yr/80 million but let's be honest, i know he's struggled but that whole hawks team is a mess - nothing meshes offensively.

with all that said, i wouldn't bring joe in here all by himself, i only bring him here if he's the sidekick, aka if he comes with lebron or wade. i'd much rather offer rudy gay the same money that i'd offer to joe johnson in any scenario.

The sg spot is so hard to fill, Atlanta has 2 elite ones....and yes, Jamal Crawford is elite. Mr. 6man of the year. If u was Atlanta was smart, they would tell Joe to go somewhere else.

I would be pissed if Joe becomes a Knick. Mike Miller and ray Allen should be priority ahead of Joe.

Thinking more 5 year 60 at this point. I say no maces. You want to come to new York...take a pay cut so we can win.

3 years 12 mill average for. Bosh, Johnson and lee.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Crawford isn't an elite player. He is in his perfect role as a bench scorer. He is elite 41 games terrible the other half of the season. No part of Joe Johnson he is only getting older and the hunger isn't there.

I think Amaré or Bosh at the max and resign Lee at 11 and give Livingston 4 and I like our chances going forward with an improving Chandler, Gallo and Walker.

I've said a bunch of times on here, I can't really picture more than a couple of guys who would be better suited to play with Gallo than Joe Johnson. If Gallo is the second coming that so many on this board think, then I'm surprised that so many wouldn't want a point-forward like Johnson who operates out of the post to pair with a forward like Gallo who likes to float outside of the arc.

Johnson as the playmaker would also take some of the stink out of the idea that Douglas is a point-guard. If Johnson were on the team, TD could play a Boobie Gibson/ Fisher type role.

You would really only need a physical center in order to to contend for the playoffs just by adding Johnson in my eyes. He would make the other pieces fit a lot better than they do currently.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Oh boy! The Knicks sign Joe Johsnson and maybe compete for a number 8 seed for the honor of being swept out of the playoffs while watching all the draft picks they gave away achieve great success elsewhere!

God bless "The Plan"!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I like Joe Johnson and love to see him in Knick uniform
however to max out on JJ is absurd

You max out for LBJ or Wade
Kobe

You dont max out for JJohnson and Bosh
they are great players but you can make them fold their tents in tough games.

Wade, LBJ and Kobe go down fighting OR prevail
Those are type of players Knicks need or the next tier of superstars coming out of college.

If we don't add Lebron or Wade then we basically wouldn't have a franchise player coming in. JJ, Bosh, Amare etc are not #1 players on your team. They're great #2's but nothing more. JJ is great if you're not asking him to carry a team past the 2nd rd. He's more of a middle of the season star as opposed to a post season stud. But let's also remember that the system he's in SUCKS! That style is not playoff caliber. JJ on our team would be a different player cuz there would less of the iso crap and more ball n player movement. If you put him with Gallo, Bosh and Livingston I think you could do some damage provided you had some bigs to bang with.

What haters? Nobody thought he was worth max unless he was signing with a better guy like LeBron or something.

I would still take Johnson, but not at that figure. $11 million is a more reasonable offer.

Man, its SCARY (or funny as hell) when guys value Zach Randolph more than Below-Average Joe Johnson :)

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Reasons You Gotta Say NO To Joe

1. Joe Johnson is a more unwlling passer than Stephon Marbury

2. 11 points per game in the playoffs is called choking and I never say someone choked

3. If you are losing by 24 points EVERY game the very least you can do is start a fight with someone. Preferably you own teammate, a ref, anyone, I don't care

4 "Can you repeat that please?"

5. He is a third tier player, not a first tier or second tier. A second tier player does not average 11 points per game when it counts most
