would your rather your team sign lebron as a free agent or get the #1 pick and continue to build the team from within?

Not even a contest in my opinion. See Kwame Brown, Kandi and myriad others for reasons.

I take the pick because is so cheap, and you STILL sign Lebron!

even though Lebron would be your star I think the Knicks would still have a homegrown feel. Gallo would be a star playing next him. Chandler is averaging 16/6 on 50% in 20+ games since moving to SG and Lee's 19/10 57% would only look better playing next to LBJ. For all we know Douglas becomes the starting PG. I dont think it would feel too much like a bought team.

Since when is adding FAs considered "buying" your team? What a preposterous notion. Every team in the NBA has a combination of drafted, homegrown talent plus FAs. It's a non-argument. Lebron is the most talented player in the game. Of course we add him. Plus, there have been so many examples of #1 picks that bust.

I like building from within but Lebron is just too nasty.

what #1 pick -- the one we don't have this year?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

You could own the top 5 picks and Still not get a player as good as Lebron

#1 picks come every year. Lebron type of players come once a decade.

I do think John Wall is going to be a LeBron type player (yes, I think he's that good) but I'll take LeBron 10 times outta 10.
