With a younger heady pg, this team could really be a chameleon while playing opposing teams.

Walsh has to address this position. Duhon would be an ok backup but not a starter in this type of offense. I'm still baffeled on why the knicks never take a chance on a future all-star at a postion like pg or C bynum and jennings

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

How about C POSITION.

Curry came from straight from Highschool in Chicago, what bigman coach has he had ?

Look at his draft buddy in Charlotte Tyson Chandler, have you seen any progression on his game offensively ?

Now we had a chance at Bynum but chose Frye. The difference in Bynum and Chandler and Curry is a bigmans coach.

NY never invested any personal coaching OUTSIDE of Mark Aguirre on a kid who came straight from highschool.

I remember Mark Aguirre was astonished that Curry didn't know basic stuff when he came over from the chicago bulls.

LA Lakers went out and paid money for the investment in a 7 ft highschooler guy with potential in (ANDREW BYNUM) with a coach like Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

Did we really bring the right coach who doesn't practice the post game, is herb williams a good enough bigman coach ?

I think they need a bona fide starting PG(I still like Jameer Nelson) and a true SG, or a scoring PG (Monta Ellis, come to NY) and a true defender at the 2.

Personally, I think that if you can get a scoring PG-who can be a go to guy- like Ellis it is the only move you have to make-on this year's team.

Ellis
Hughes(defender, he and Ellis can switch off)
Gallo
Chandler
Lee(in all honesty, Lee would be more athletic than most centers and it would probably be a lot easier to help an undersized Lee in the post than to try and help him on the perimeter).

Now if you can swap out a Chandler for a shotblocker at the PF/SF position(a la Old school Andrei or Josh Smith), all the better.

We have most of the necessary pieces to be a very good team, we are just missing a star, preferably a wing player who can eliminate the need for a great pg. Luckily for us, lbj, wade, and jj will be on the market.

it really is that simple. I think this modest winning stretch has shown that Lee, Chandler and Gallo are a solid group of complimentary players. Good enough to even win some games. Good enough that if you add a stud you can be an elite team.

I agree, I had mentioned that the other day. I think if you take LeBron off the Cavs and you play Knicks vs Cavs, then Knicks have the better team and win. Now add LeBron to the Knicks and I think you have a very good team.

This team is a PG away from the 4th seed in the playoffs. If we had the playmaking PG then we are a shotblocking center away from top 5 in the league.

These are important pieces that make for a much better team, definitely a solid playoff team, but you still need that star. Gallo is showing he will eventually be a star, probably more of a secondary star however, and Lee is a top player on a contending team as well. Adding a star is the missing piece. Although the center and pg make you much better, unless you add a top player at one of those positions, you still can't compete for a championship.

Yeah, because its not like MDA never managed to get a team to a western conference finals before. Nor has he ever managed to get a team to 60+ wins in a tough western conference. Yeah, lets bring in Scott Skiles...

Pg is clearly our weakest position. You put a Chris Paul at point, and this team replicates the Suns past seasons under MDA. This team has the talent at the other positions and our bench to win 50 games, but it is hard when you have the worst starting pg in basketball.

Well, let's see. First and foremost, this team needs a point guard. Then, we need a shooting guard.... uh... a couple of forwards, a center, and some role players on the bench. If we could get some good players at those positions, we'd be set. Get it done Donnie.
