what?? what's with the negative response? of course they make the playoffs. what i saw last night was a team that played good defense and had some raelly good stretches. darko was incredible in 13 minutes with 2 blocks. they just shot too many three pointers, getting weird minutes, and they won't fall into that againn. the offense will come!

It's obviously too early to really know, and they might make the playoffs (though I doubt it), but how can you say "of course they make the playoffs"?? "Of course"? Really?

I still think this years team is better than last years. I think this team and get to .500 or just under if they finally get their offensive game going. It seems that they should end up being OK on D this year from what i'm seeing. There's more effort and commitment to D.

If there's one thing about this team that we know is that we have a lot of scorers. I fully expect them to get it together at some point and if they keep up the defensive intensity and actually get a bit better due to a consistent rotation, they have a chance to get to .500 and maybe a playoff spot. It's far from a lock, but not impossible either.

We all wanted to see more of an effort on D and I think we've seen that, tho they still need to improve from a technical standpoint. The effort is at least there. Mind you these are for the most part NOT defensive minded players we have. Except for TD, Chan and maybe Darko. The whole team is full of career one way players. So for them to be getting more blocks and steals at this point shows more effort to me.

On the whole I don't see that much difference between teams at the lower end of the playoff race. You know i'm gonna take the positive view and say YES they make the playoffs this year.

if teams didnt regress or become stagnant then head coaches would never get fired. Knicks were 26-55 after trading Zach and Crawford. They were 3-10, 5-11 and 3-4 in Feb, Mar, Apr.

Now going into this year MDA and Walsh have been upfront that this team is all about Gallo and Chandler. Two guy who have shown very little on the NBA level. Certainly they have not shown anything they do will translate into winning NBA games.

This is not doom and gloom. This is calling it like I see it. What impact players have been added? What are we going to do differently than last year to win more games? Does this team look hungry? Do they play with with any sense of urgency? Do they play like a 32 win team with something to prove?

You just cant give me any tangible reasons we will be better. Could it happen? of course, and I hope it will. We could just as easily win 25 games

There's absolutely ZERO chance of MDA being in trouble based on anything this team does or doesn't do this year. We all know that this is just a holding pattern season until we hit 2010 FA market, but there's still a chance this team can improve as the season moves along and be in the mix for a playoff spot.

I find it laughable that some have taken to criticizing MDA's coaching ability as if he never did anything to show that he can get a team to perform on a high level. We actually all saw that this team played with much more of a sense of cohesion and especially when he still had Zach and Jamal, who many thought couldn't play a team game or win here. Yet they started off really well. Now we don't have that luxury, cuz two of our most talented players are young and inexperienced and also coming off surgery!!! That is a key point that many keep overlooking. Offseason is the only time young players have to work on improving their game and both have very little opportunity to do that. They'll have to grind it out during the season and see how much they can improve as the season moves along. I think for both players it's all mental. They have the tools. It's their approach that needs to change. Being more aggressive and in attack mode is what they both need.
