Duhon to Orlando?

Orlando has a trade exception from the Turkoglu trade. They lost their backup PG in the Vince Carter trade. We trade Duhon for the exception worth the size of Duhon's contract. What's in it for us though? My understanding is you can't combine an exception with a player. I guess we could trade the exception to a team or teams looking to shed an ending contract in order to avoid being tax payers. And get a pick or two out of that. I dont think that is enough. They'd have to also give us a # pick, IMO, which will probably be in the mid 20s. Would you guys trade duhon for a late first rounder and the exception? I would.

Assuming we go with Jwill and Nate and TD for a year if we trade Duhon.

Memphis just traded cap space for Denvers #1 pick.

If we had a trade exception the size of Steven Hunter's contract (4mil), we could have done the same amd still had a smaller trade exception left over.

memphis just got a third first round pick in next years draft from denver under these same premises by taking stephen hunter

If Orlando was willing to give us a pick for Duhon, I would trade him right now. We can always pick up J-Will or Tinsley for $1 million. I doubt Orlando does it though because they have Anthony Johnson as their backup and IMO he is as good as Duhon.

Anthony Johnson I feel is better than Duhon and can play real defense. Like you said, there is no need for Duhon when you have Johnson who the Magics already know can deliver in the playoffs.

I use to coach Anthony Johnson little cousin. Johnson has many family members in New York.

Why trade duhon for this year? It doesn't help get the knicks under the cap for next year unless it's like:

Duhon and Jeffries (and cash) for trade exception straight up.orlando could use jeffries as a poor man's hedo.

I don't know, Duhon isn't worthless, he's proven to be an almost-starter in the NBA and I think we can get something more in return.
