Suppose Walsh makes no more moves, and we go into the season with the guys we have.

Here's my take.

We will sign Sessions or Williams or Iverson. (If not Sessions, maybe Iverson AND Williams)
David lee and Nate RObinson will be traded to move Eddy Curry and Jared Jeffries.
Walsh will be hailed as a cap expert.
Chandler will be traded during the season for a young PG.
D'antoni will mold him in his image.
Given more playting time, Douglas and HIll come on strong later in the season.
We will finish with 34-37 wins.
We will have cap space to sign two max FAs with enough to resign one of our own FAs (Harringotn?).
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

If Donnie doesn't get the Knicks a point guard I'm gonna kill myself...I can't go through another season of Duhon. I'd rather have Roy Sparrow.

what about Lee and Nate? We technically don't have them yet?

And I think a lot will depend on how we bring them back, assuming they do come back.

Personally, I would have liked to see them sign longer term deals, but definitely did not want them overpaid.

I do believe that your hatred for Duhon has eclipsed my hatred for Eisley. As a matter of fact your hatred makes my hatred seem like love.
I just hope that people will like me

While you're at it, see if you can do the same with Shandon and Weatherspoon.

You would have loved Eisley if Layden listened to my Eisley for Garnett trade offer. That was destined to go down. Instead, we traded him for Stephon Marbury.

Marbury was nobrainer... in many ways

i knew you'd come in on this . . . . .

you can't conceive of ANY scenario where it ends up better for us to do that?

nope... i can't bro... u let them walk for nothing & ur basically throwing away the 2 biggest assets we had at our disposal to make deals with... even if u have to sign them to a longterm deal, u still have the option to trade them later, just gotta make sure that contract is not absurdly overpriced over the market like D Lee's agent was asking for... if u sign them to QO deals & they veto any trades & end up walking next year, you're basically just throwing them away for nothing... Donnie absolutely must somehow get them to sign a shortterm or below market contract & then explore trade options, or just explore sign & trade options outright.

all right. it's all hypothetical. but i can conceive of a scenario where not signing them gives us the room to absorb eddy's contract and still sign 2 guys of our choice who MORE than offset anything nate and lee would have given us on the court. better outcome in the end than having signed them in this case.

I'm cool and all, but still anticipating SOMETHING to happen. I don't care what, just some type of move.

But if Donnie Walsh feels that no more moves are necessary for the time being then I am cool with that.

What team has ever built a championship team building around a free agent?

Barkley went to the Suns in a trade.

Kidd to NJ was a trade.

Chauncey Billups? Is that the answer?

I'm not sold on the 2010 plan especially with Walsh's punt at the 2009 trade deadline.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Wait, what's the diff between free agent and trade? I mean, who cares.

the point is u should be able to trade those guys for expirings & picks, or at the very least use them as sweeteners in a deal to dump Curry of Fishlips' contracts, which is a much more beneficial scenario in my view... i don't see letting them walk for nothing as being anything but a worst case scenario move to make.

why TMS? Lee and Nate are good players, not stars. Not every good player fetches something in return for the team that drafted them. I hope they do (if they are leaving) but lets see what DW does with the spot first
