I don't like position of need. It's what exactly we need. We need a PG who can distribute and be pass first and defend. We need all positions to put a commitment on defense. We need a shotblocker whether it's at Center or Power Foward. We need guys who can consistently shoot at a high percentage and guys who know how to make the right pass. We need a go to scorer.

In other words, we need everything.

To me, it's PG. Yes I want a shotblocking center too but for what the Knicks do having a PG like Rubio, Jennings, Curry would be huge.

1, 2 or 3 and 5 are spots that we have to get long term solutions for.

We only have Chandler and Gallo really.

Chandler might give you more of an advantage at the 2 if you can get a superior athlete at the 3.

That's where Derozan would come in.

In the short term, we're going to get smoked on a nightly basis if we don't have a point to replace Nate and take minutes from Duhon and we don't have a pick next year.

Donnie made a weird comment that none of the guys in the top 10 fit Donnie's system.

What does that mean?

Flynn? Is that where he wants to go? He'd be fast, tough, and is a great passer, but he needs to get under control to be the real solution. He could be Jason Hart, which is a nice bench player or he could get that deep trey going again like he had his freshman year and be a Parker type.

What you love about Flynn if you're Donnie is his crazy endurance. This guy can leg it out for 82 games. Would never have to slow it down like you did with the rest of the Knick guards.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

You didn't read it close enough...

I think there aren't a lot of guys who can't fit the system in the top 10,

wow, great insight there - I totally whiffed on that one

what does that change? what's he talking about there?

I'm just praying that he doesn't mean Curry

JW.. I think Donnie worded it oddly, I had to read it twice myself.

Personally, you know how I feel. I'm down with Curry, but I'm still hoping for Rubio or Jennings first and foremost...

i don't think there is any position of need on draft night. the draft is about getting the best player possible, later you sort the positioning out.

well besides pf and maybe sf with lee ( if we keep him) and harrington/chandler, i think every other position is weak. out the other positions, though, i think a good all around pg is needed the most. yeah, a good shot blocking center is nice but lets be honest, the skill has become somewhat of a lost art besides a few people thanks to the evolution of the nba. you can have sf in the top five in blocking where before that was unheard of. so to have a small lineup is fine.

Yes that's true, but it's pretty obvious that right now the best player available is going to be a guard..

so that's the best player available, not the biggest position of need. our greatest position of need is a big that can block shots, i think, but given the pool this need cannot and will not be addressed on draft night.

You just said
i don't think there is any position of need on draft night. the draft is about getting the best player possible, later you sort the positioning out.

And now you are saying the exact opposite?

no, i only explained my original statement-- that "there is no position of need on draft night" because, given the player pool, our greatest position of need cannot be addressed on draft night.

Ok....

Whats the point in dealing with things that won't happen? The best player available when we pick at 8 is going to be a guard, no if's and's or but's. So thats the position you go with.

BPA. It would be foolish for any team to select for position. Ask the Blazers how they feel now about selecting Sam Bowie.

Knicks need a bpa. They need to start with some good players first before they have needs to fill.

Orange, you don't seem to be a fan of Curry.
