Love the trades - Donnie did a great job. We improved the team without giving up much. And opened up 2 roster spots.

Neutral - We exchanged players but the team has about the same ability and outlook as before.

Hate the Trades - Donnie was napping. He accomplished nothing and we didn't get worthwhile players in return.

Guess i'll go with love.

As far as Hughes goes, you cant slap paint on a Ford Escort and expect it to perform like a Ferrari, so I think everybody knows what to expect with him, but I have a strong feeling that Wilcox is going to feast in this offense.

This is a playoff team, I'm antipating them making it comfortably

I'll vote love for the sake of the poll.
Donnie didn't turn water into wine, but he did find some recyclables in our trash pile.

I'm not much of a fan of either Hughes or Wilcox, but there's no denying the team is much more balanced. Hughes can lighten the load in the back court and any real production is extra. In the process, we opened up two roster spots, and all we gave up was TT - which will hopefully open up more minutes for Nilo.

Wilcox will be a legitimate big to pair with Lee. Replacing Jefferies blown layups with a Wilcox dunk alone can go a long way for this team. I'm wishing Malik the best though - hopefully he can negotiate a buyout with OKC and find his way back to San Antonio. The man remained a professional the entire time during this NYC circus. Won't miss his game, but I still appreciate his attitude.

I'd give Hughes a B and Wilcox an A-.

We effectively got Wilcox for nothing -- true. But I'm not a big Wilcox fan. I hope he proves me wrong.

...and sadly, I'm more optimistic about him than Hughes.

But I'm glad to be done with JJ. The guy was an utter disgrace to the uniform, and I don't think its good for a team to have slackers sitting around collecting paychecks. Good riddance, you fat p.o.s.

Loved the trades. Hughes and Wilcox will be good for us this year. We weren't going to be in the top 5 of the lotto anyway (Sac, LAC, OkC, Washington, Memphis) already have that wrapped up.

we didn't improve much, but u can't complain about the deals that were made... we're still in the same boat cap wise & we didn't add any young talent or draft picks, so i don't see how u can be overly excited about the 2 moves that Donnie made, but u definitely can't be unhappy w/them either... it's a big whatever to me... i just hope Gallo can see more playing time now that Fugazy is finally outta here.

We could maybe use a "like" the deals, which are "solid" rather than "love" or "neutral."

Yes - that is a another good choice. But I can't edit the poll. It doesn't allow. It looks like most guys on the forum either "love" or "like" the trades.

Donnie seems to have a style in his trades. He tries to do 2 or 3 at the same time to fill gaps and balance the team. He did it when he traded Crawford and Zack (except that Mobley , who would have filled in for Jamal, had the heart condition and retired). Now he does it by trading Tim Thomas for Hughes and getting Wilcox to take over Tim Thomas' minutes, but at the PF . And almost traded Jeffries - Wilcox would have taken over his minutes.

Overall, a good job by Walsh.

It's hard to hate the trades. They made us a little better and we didn't give up anything of value. I'd like to see who gets the roster spots.

Walsh sent TT back to Chitown.

Are they gonna roster him or send him again to MarburyLand?

both players had stretches of years where they played very well. Wilcox is young. Hughes is looking to bounce back. MDA is certainly a players coach and the hope is he can get them 'into' it again and excited to be playing pro basketball at MSG. I like the thought process behind both trades, and if these plays just play good they really help us. Hughes shoots 40% from downtown and gets a lot of steals and assists. Wilcox can guard post players and Hughes is a good wing defender. I feel like our biggest needs were helped minus shotblocking
