Seems like more & more of you are willing to trash the plan to get under the cap in 2010 in favor of targetting players like Vince & G Wallace right now. I think it's time for everyone to man up & pick a side... either u wanna keep dumping bad contracts & target cap flexibility in 2010 to go after guys like Lebron, Bosh, Wade, Amare, Dirk, etc., or you wanna go for the quick fix & cash in on another starphuch type trade to try & win more games right now in order to target the playoffs this season. Which is it cacas??? Man Up & be counted! y'all can pat urselves on the back all u want & have bragging rights if ur way ends up bringing this franchise more longterm success than the other side... i don't wanna see any gay-azz hedging type answers like "well, i wanna get under the cap in 2010, but i also wanna trade for Gerald Wallace right now"... sorry doodies, that don't cut it.

need some more definition around this.

what do you do about expiring rookie contracts? namely lee & nate. re-sign them or let them go? up to what would you re-sign them?

who's on your roster in 2010 that's gonna entice a major FA?

I'm with the cap space 2010 movement AND also trading for additional draft picks.

obviously u can't gain cap space in 2010 if u extend Lee & Nate to lucrative extensions, so u have to look to trade them for draft picks right now, or include them in deals to dump some of our bad contracts... w/the rookie we pick up this year in the draft, along w/whatever other prospects we land w/the picks we gain by trading those guys, u can be the judge whether the guys leftover would appeal to FA's in 2010... i happen to think it would... feel free to disagree.

either way, anything we do should either have 2010 in mind or we should forget about it altogether & go the starphuch route like we've been doing the past decade... what would u prefer?

I don't want any Vincanity type contracts. Gerald Wallace for Curry is fine.

Nothing is guaranteed in this world.

Not draft picks (pick a year: http://www.nbadraft.net/nba_draft_history/index.html )

and definitely not a few NBA players who will be free agents two years from now, that will get MORE MONEY, and play with a better team, if they sign with their own team.

Either way could be fine as long as there is a strong plan put in place to execute that plan and the execution was great.

I wouldn't mind going for cap space though. But like Walsh I'm not willing to give up Randolph for garbage. Curry, Crawford, Jefferies are all expendable though for any type of shorter contract even if he was a bum. I don't hate Crawford, but he is replaceable.

Develop Chandler & Gallo and let Nate keep getting better. Use the lottery pick to add a lotto type of PG, C, or SG. Then use the cap space after that to either get a star player or add in a need to go along with the core. Nate,Chandler,Gallo, lotto pick and free agent(s) with D'Antoni as coach could be a team on the rise.

As for scrapping the 2010 plan, I wouldn't mind it if it was done correctly.

i agree w/u 100% nyny... i'd have no issues holding onto Zach if we could dump some of the other bad contracts to gain cap space in 2010... i'm putting u on the 2010 squad.

If we go strictly for capspace, we damn well better have a backup plan, or else we are screwed.

The question is too vague for me. Are we just gonna dump everyone on the roster with a contract for a pick? If so, who do you plan on drafting in order to entice LeBron or Bosh and have you seen those players enough for you to say to yourself "Yes, those players definitely are enough, compared to the Pistons, Cavs, Nets, Raptors ect...

It's going to take a GM with A TON of business AND basketball savy in order to bring LeBron AND a championship here. I like what Walsh is doing though. Kudos.

all right, here's my dealio: gotta re-sign nate. let zach play through his contract. only re-sign lee if you can hold down the price; otherwise let him go. hold onto craw through his current contract, because i think MDA is gonna get the best from him. keep eddy on the bench and let him decide if he wants to opt out of his contract when he can.

the 2010 roster will be chandler, gallo, nate and zach as its core. craw will be back if he’s earned it. same with dlee and duhon. and our up-coming #1. i'd then let the chips fall where they may regarding a FA signing or a sign-and-trade.

come on bro, use ur imagination... there's a lotta options u can go with if u go w/a 2010 plan... u can look to dump contracts right now to suck this year & then end up w/a top lottery pick & take a kid like Jennings, Derozan, etc... or u can stick w/what u got this year & look to trade them next year for expirings... or u can trade D Lee & Nate right now & dump 1 of our bad contracts in the process & go w/the rest of what's left over til the draft... lots of different ways u can go about it...

the other way is to forego all that & make a trade right now to win right now even if it means worsening our cap situation for 2010.
