Do you think the Knicks will make any more moves this off-season worth a damn?

Donnie is still waiting for trading season to begin like he said on draft night. Those other teams are cheating by staring early.

I wouldnt be upset if we kept the same roster, pumped up the value of a couple guys, and then made moves at the deadline or even this time next year. I hope that we can pull of some great trade, but those trades might just not have been out there just yet

I think Walsh is a believer in dealing from strength. Why trade now, when you could have a half season or season of pumping up player values before trading them. Only time will tell if this is a good strategy.

what happens to Zach & Curry's value if they fail to perform under D'Antoni? Can a player become more worthless?

Does anyone believe the Clippers only wanted Zach if we gave up a first round pick?

And I guess buying a late first rounder for the draft would have been dealing from weakness?

what do we need w/Childress anyway? i'd much rather see Chandler, Balkman & Gallo getting minutes than bringing in another swingman... Childress ain't all that good to begin with.

Zach and Curry's value can't go down any furthur .....unless they get injured. But that is a risk any time someone steps on the court.

The Clippers wanted too much from us or didnt give enough for Zack. When do we play them. I hope we beat them by 30 points. They don't have a good offense and their 2 defensive stalwarts (Kamen and Cambry ) are great defensively on half court but they won't be able to keep up with a fast transition game we will play. That will nullify Camby's (34 years old) and Kamen's strengths.

"Buying a late first round pick".....I wholeheartily agree with you that we should have done that. A BIG mistake by Knicks mgmt. One for which I havent forgiven them. Or getting an early 2nd round pick. A number of very good players were available who could have helped us a lot.

All the rumors this off season have come true.......big time players have switched teams.
Knicks have Gallo and Duhon. On the green grass side, the Knicks have a steady point guard that knows his position. They also got a 19 yr old draft prospect that has some skills and personality traits that could become something 2 years down the line.

On the dark side, Duhon is a waste of the exeption cuz if the Knicks had any forsight they woulda knocks 2 birds with one stone and drafted Bayless. The mid-level could be there to sign Jr Smith or Childress, or Monta Ellis for that matter.

Dude the roster should look like:

Zach/Lee
Chandler
Camby
Bayless
Craw/childress

Right now who out there is available? And how do we get them and who wants what we have to get them?

Why is Donnie here? To babysitt? Cuz right now with Gallo being 19 and projected to play Zach and Lee's position?........Duhon is a stop gap? Yeah so......it looks to me boys and girls that the Knicks are going to let nature take its course.

D'antoni is the only reason I have to watch the Knicks. I'll have to watch and hope he can get the club working like a pro club on the court.

i think stern *encouraged* all of these moves. isiah/dolan embarrased the team and the league. ny has been a terrible team for years. so he gets walsh there, then promptly gets the best free agent coach there. gets an international marketable player there. all that's left is to deliver the big blow and that's a big time free agent in 2010. imho, stern is the wizard of oz...

whose to say it wouldn't have been a 2 yr or longer wait for bayless to learn the pg position?

and has there been any definite indication D' Antoni believes in Jamal Crawford? seems he is another guy just like Zach who could hinder the development of Gallo with his selfish style of play on the court

All I can say is it is going to be a long time before we are good. We have no idea what happened in these negotiations so I will do what most don't do, and I will not speculate. I do not know if the Clipp offered for Zach exactly what they offered for Camby? So I won't speculate just to raise my ire against Walsh. I'll assume the deal wasn't there. I'm as wary against mgt as anyone here. I just can't see myself jumping up and down when this mgt team has been in power 3 months and has not had a chance to evaluate the team thoroughly. Although it sucks not to see us get some of these good players, I'd still like to see our mgt team avoid the mistakes of Isiah(in the short run) which is turning over the roster on a whim. They know there is a problem here. They know changes need to be made. But how do they know where the problems stem from without seeing the team together. Remember this is a new mgt. team, not an established one.

Zach and Curry's value are both so low that they can't go any lower, it doesn't matter if they don't work out for D'Antoni.

1.) Zach and Curry's value are both so low that they can't go any lower, it doesn't matter if they don't work out for D'Antoni.

2.) Tough question to answer. It's definitely possible. TEams may not be willing to take on his personality and may be asking for more in return because they know that we are in a position of weakness. That's what happens when you are in a period of weakness. For all we know the Camby deal may have been almost done and the Clipp decided to see what they could get out of the Knicks before they finalized that deal. When they couldn't get a number one they decided to close the Camby deal. Or they could have offered a second rounder for Zach and Walsh turned it down. Point is, we don't know, so why get your panties in a bunch over things you don't know. The papers write all this stuff becuase they know they can get people from the Walsh camp all fired up, as well as those that don't like Walsh. This is how they sell papers.

3.) Buying a late first rounder would have been great and I wish we had.

No. Everything is fixed. It started when the former racist, convicted sexual harrassing, franchise destroying president and coach was retained and was cited as one of the scouts who scouted the Knicks lottery pick. It continued with the hiring of a coach who expects his guys to play like professionals (defensive philosophy), has short practices, and does not handle criticism to coach a group of guys who have displayed no team character, very little individual character, and lack in some of the basic fundamentals of team basketball. It continued with the NBA draft when the franchise drafted a small forward for the third straight year ignoring other needs and talents that were available. The final piece of the puzzle was put in place with the signing of Chris Duhon. The organization was able to sign the former second round pick and career back up for the full mid level exemption for only two years because LeBron will be coming to play for the Knicks then.
