With Rose how being hailed as #1, before we thought that we could just get #2 or perhaps #3 and get him. With so many fans feeling that he is the player we most need, leading to constant back and forthing about the draft being rigged, I figured I'd make a poll of UK posters beliefs about whether we think Stern and the NBA will interfere. Time to look into your crystal ball...

Hellz yeah, we're getting the #1 pick. I'd like to thank David Stern in advance.

Enough to help, but not to bring out comparisons to 1985. We get pick #2 or #3

Maybe, I'm suspicious that this is the case.

STFU, that's some typical U.S. media, anti-NY propaganda. Our pick will come fair & square.

Sorry, I have ESPN not ESP, so I really have no clue.

For the integrity you'd like things to take place as they should, but obviously wanting any possible chance for us to benefit the most.

That's why the NFL is the best ran sport venue around. Every team's fans truly feel they have a chance at something special each yr.

Unfortunately in the NBA they're are ulterior motives coming from the Top to shape the league according to certain agendas. Quite disgusting when you think about. It's a take turns, wait your turn, what's the secret password and we'll let you in type of gig.

Just because the lottery may have been rigged for us in 1985 doesn't mean Cleveland deserved for it to be rigged for them in 2003, and nor does it mean it should be rigged for us this yr, and nor does it mean trades and off-season acquisitions should be rigged.

I'd like to think NBA fans deserve and command more respect than what's given them, in that if the league is ran properly, with integrity, 100% Gimmick free, the league will take of itself or better put the fans will take care of the league. Of course it helps if the economy allows fans the means to do so.

True, only problem with the NFL argument is the Spygate thing. Their integrity is even more questioned now, given that the Pats won so many titles during this period.

Who the F knew they were doing that? I mean no one knew and it took a snitch to bring it all out. Everything can't be policed but the basis for which it's ran and how the structure is setup is designed for every team to have a chance. If you look at the SB appearances Sans Pats it been pretty diverse over the past Decade. And if Spygate was Rigged by the league wouldn't it have made more sense to stage it in a bigger football market such as New York, Dallas, Packers?

I dont think there is a chance its rigged, but I think spending money on guys like Mike D and DW might be the karmic boost we need to win the lottery.

I feel like with everyone talking about how its going to be rigged and how its a done deal that we get a top 3 pick, we'll probably end up picking at 5 or lower... (and no its not rigged)

I really hope I'm wrong though.

Naw, I agree that the NFL has had the most parity and that most fans believe their team can win, which has shown itself to be true for the most part. It's just interesting that now the NFL is facing their own integrity questions. Goodell's handling of the situation has reeked of underplaying the problem, IMHO. Specter is also ridiculous for spending so much energy on this nonsense and catering to angry NFL (read: Steeler & Eagles) fans. Not saying that the game shouldn't be monitored, but it still seems silly to spend so much energy by a politician on such matters.

I don't think they can rig it now. They might very well have when we got Ewing- but not with all the scrutiny and the mechanism.

Of course, they could inject white out into our balls....

Aren't you the one who screams about these NBA teams that tank and ruin the integrity of the game? Well, the NFL is huge on tanking games down the stretch becaue there lotto positions are secured with the worse records.

There's far less of it in the NFL because coaches are more concerned about saving their jobs and you'll see players like Brett Favre playing every game of the season when his team is out of the playoffs by week 6 or Donavan McNabb coming back and finishing a season with a sports hernia but in every sport venue there's some degree of tanking. Also since there's more parity in the NFL more teams are alive in the playoff chase later in the season than in the NBA.

I guarantee we won't get pick #4.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I wish people would stop this rigged lottery stuff all it does is make sure the Knicks don't get the number 1 pick. Thats right the more people that continue to say its rigged the more chance the Knicks don't win it. So please stop already if you are a KNicks fan with will the lottery be rigged in Knicks favor when reality shows that San Antonio and Houston even tough they are not in the lottery will have a better chance at winning the lottery we all Know this to be true. Oh by the way the last I looked Bucks are in the lottery too so they might win it over Knicks they have won it a few times already. Why is it that when Knicks win its rigged? Pat Ewing thing it wasn't rigged it happened the way it happened. Wether its God's will or Stern's live with it.

We've been in the draft lottery every year for about a decade. If Stern was gonna rig the lottery for us, he'd have done it by now.
