So let's say we get the #5 pick and it goes Beasley, Rose, Lopez and one of the two between Bayless and Mayo. Who do you want to see fall to #5 and be taken by the Knicks? I prefer Mayo but I see both being marginal players. I would be tempted to take Kevin Love because I think he's going to be an all-star, but I guess not in this run and gun system. In that case Bayless might be who we would want. What do you think?

OJ Mayo for me -- more versatile player.

Both would be good for us but Mayo is more complete - all around player. I don't see him as being marginal by any means.

Bayless....far better athlete.

I don't want an undersized 2 that can't get to the rim.

This is a very good thread. It's a situation that might happen. I go back and forth on this. Today, I put Mayo because he's taller, has long arms, so he at least comes close to fitting one position - shooting guard. Bayless still isn't ready to be a point guard in the nba and he's small for the two. But I love his body control when he goes to the hoop and how he draws fouls. I think Bayless is also the better passer and makes less mistakes. But Mayo is a very good with potential to be a great defender.

I wish we could get them both.

I might go Mayo. Bayless is one of those guys who could end up a short 2 after burning years trying to make him a 1. I'm gonna defer to D'Antoni on what PG we get, though.

Bayless. Has all the tools to be a lead guard in this league - nice size for a PG, handle, strength, athletism, quickness, along with the best offensive skill set of any freshman guard in college basketball last year - I envision him becoming something along the lines of Tony Parker/Chris Paul/Marbury/Baron Davis. The most "sure thing" out of any player in this draft and the scary thing is there's still room for improvement. This is my guy. He won't even be there at 5. If the Knicks want him (and I hope they do) and we wind up picking #5, we'll have to trade up to get him.

I don't like Gordon but am high on Augustine.
