What is the most significant trophy in NY Sports?

I think the largest fan population in NYC by a large margin is Yankees.

The Giants pretty much passed the Knicks for me a couple years ago (its really just a marginal difference between my fave teams). But no doubt, the Knicks would mean the most to me. It's the only one I haven't seen and its the one I've craved the longest. We were so damn close.

For NYC the most meaningful championship would be the Knicks.

For NY it's always the Yankees. Always has been, always will be.

I'm not old enough to remember the Knicks 2 titles.....my parents were kids themselves.

When the Yanks win its sweet , but to me its like bringing the trophy back home. 26 rings, right? Can't take that from us.

The Giants are like an orgasm......after it happens its like....ok what's on TV now, lol.

Who cares about the Mets or Jets? Only losers, lol.

Now the Rangers with 1940 over our heads.....I think everyone shed a tear when they won.

Islander fans are close nit. They are like a hick town. They aren't losers like Jet and Met fans though. Nobody cares but them. I think long island would burn down if they won. Nobody would care because nobody even knows they exist.

So our Knicks?

I believe if the Knicks won.....the city would burst into flame.

The Super Bowl is the biggest title in American sports and I'd reckon there more Giants fans than Jets fans. I'd say Giants Super Bowl trophy.

This is probably the truth for average NYC fan
I am not in American football or baseball. You need to be born on USA to understand these sports.
I was on Soccer and Hockey all my live and added bbal with Knicks to my list just 10 years back.
Rangers will be the biggest to me... I still remember 1994 and rooted for them from Latvia where Hockey is sport Number 1.

I thought the question was the most significant 'trophy'. Not the most significant team.

But the World Series Trophy of course. Many people would argue that the NFL is the most significant, but you gotta take into consideration that baseball plays 162 games a season and football only plays 16. So it's fair to say that football gets more resources 'in one bunch at a time', because there's not that many games. So it does' matter demographically and not' necessarily the popularity of the sport, like baseball. What is the most significant thing people always talk about, about the Super Bowl? How many people watched it! It's the biggest news, besides of course the winner of the event.

So it's all about demographics (numbers) and not necessarily because it's more popular. Football is very structured. You see it in the game itself. The yardage picked up, the game of inches as it's been referred to as sometimes.

Baseball is older and much more glorified. It can be compared to many things in life itself. It is sewn into our psyche, It is the most American of sports, and that is why' the W.S. Trophy would have' to qualify as the most significant trophy.
I'll never trust this' team again.

If you really want to base it on the trophy itself, the hands down winner will always be the Stanley Cup. And it's not even close. There's only 1 Cup. The winner eventually gets a replica for their trophy case but the Cup goes on to the next champion.

That's the Holy Grail for hockey players, to lift the Cup. In every other sport, they play for the rings. Every member of the Stanley Cup champion gets to keep the Cup for a day in the offseason, to do with whatever they please. It's all about the trophy.

That is a cool title. Is that the same title as the old WCW title or is just a lookalike?
