First of all, Merry Christmas everyone. I hope all of you had a great day. Now ... My choice would be the 2008 #1 pick, even though I hate Isiah Thomas and hopes he had a horrific Christmas. I'd manage to see his cheezy smile, his messed up eyebrows, and hear that girly voice of his if it means seeing Derrick Rose in a New York Knickerbocker uniform.

I chose the firing. Does anyone actually trust the man, the myth, the moron will do the sensible thing here? We all know that he is both (1) prideful and (2) stupid, so I can't see him admitting he made a mistake with Marbury directly. He'll likely try to make JC or Nate or even Fred Jones into the starting PG before spending the #1 overall on Rose.

If I'm wrong, does anyone trust that he'll surround Rose with decent players? Does anyone trust that he'll decently coach his "talent"?

well if you think about it....the reason i would fire Zeke is because if hes still here when we hypothetically get the top pick that means he will be around next year as well and i think he had more than enough chances to turn this around...he needs to go ASAP....and take marbury, curry, randolph, nate, crawful, richardson, malik...they gotta gooo

Isiah being fired. I don't trust him with the pick.

Highly unlikely Isiah would screw up a top 4 pick. Unless he trades it.

I'd take the pick.

I really can't stand Isiah, however, I would love to have that pick.

You get the feeling he is finally starting to understand how much of a disaster he has created. I think we can build a team around that pick, Zbo, Lee, Balkman, nate, and perhaps a few others. Even Isiah is possibly starting to see how poor an overall player Curry is, and hopefully putting Curry on the bench is the first step to shipping him out.

I'm not a big fan of anyone in 08 draft so far. I gotta go with Isiah getting fired. With him gone this franchise could turn it around.

Fire Isiah. He'll just trade the first rounder for a fat center.

Either for the rights to sofo or in a "blockbuster" for Darius Miles.

FIRE ISIAH. Let the pick fall where it may.

I disagree completely. A high draft pick is one of the first steps to getting out our situation.

You know honestly, if we get a really high pick like the no.1 I wouldn't be averse to trading down for more picks. I don't see one guy in this draft that is really going to flip this team and I think in a rebuilding situation we need to infuse this team with a bunch of young guys since we will have very few opportunities to add talent by other means. Problem is so many players tied up to long term deals- how do we get rid of them?

Why people think that firing Isiah will improve our record to the extend we will miss the lottery?
We will stink with Isiah or without.
So we will have a shot for the high picks regardless of Isiah firing.
And I feel much safer with this disastrous man gone forever.

Exactly, not like Herb is gonna get any more wins. We need to remove Isiah's influence first and foremost. Even if you give him the top pick, and its Derrick Rose and he's a flat out stud- its just gonna give Isiah more cause to patchwork around him.

There is not ONE person who believes firing Isiah means we make the playoffs or drastically improve.

What you are both seemingly missing in fans like myself wanting Isiah fired is that he has spent four years constructing a garbage team that even he can't coach. You want to keep him here? You want to watch him trade Malik for Darius Miles and Marbury for Kenyon Martin while handing over Lee and the 08 #1 unprotected? CAUSE THATS WHAT ISIAH DOES.

You fire him so he CANT DAMAGE US ANY FURTHER.

You fire him and you TEAR THIS GODAWFUL TEAM APART.

You fire him and PRAY that the summer of 09 that Zach, Curry, and Crawful are all playing elsewhere and we've already bought out Marbury and Malik and are only stuck with Jeffries, Q, James, and the kids and whoever we draft - and then you watch a NEW GM a competent basketball mind BEGIN building a new team during the summer of 2009.

We are ONE MORE trade away from sucking through 2011 and having to target 2011 as a salary dump not 2009.

Why on EARTH do you guys want Isiah to stay here and what on earth do you think he's going to accomplish? Our team is stacked with VETERAN PLAYERS who other teams willingly gave up. This bunch of losers is NOT GOING TO TURN ANYTHING AROUND and become a contending team.

GET RID OF ISIAH to BE GOOD ANOTHER DAY DOWN THE ROAD.

Nobody and I mean nobody who wants Isiah fired could POSSIBLY THINK any new coach could get this bunch of GARBAGE to play good basketball can they? This team has quit on FIVE COACHES. FIVE!!!! Why would a sixth change a damn thing!?

Why would you trust Isiah to fix his own mess? He turned Layden's crap over in 18 months and in another 18 months he turned his OWN crap over. You want him to spend the next 18 months turning it over again? Third time's the charm.

FUCK NO!

Dammit I'm sorry I misread your post. Just pissed off thats all lol. I've had enough......not of the losing...of the inaction and any idea that this group can succeed, that's all.

I needed a good rant today I haven't had one in a while.

If we hang tight we get both the #1 and a good shot at Artest.

(edit) by hang tight I mean continue to fail miserably...
