I thought we played a good team well in their house. There were some good signs and some bad ones. Our perimeter d and our 3 point shooting were as bad as they were last season. On the good side, we didn't turn the ball over very much as a team, which has been a big problem. Also, Jamal had more free throw atempts than 3 pt shots, which is something most of us have wanted him to do. I thought Zach and Eddy played pretty well together, but that's a work in progress. It can and needs to get better, but it will take some time.

Unsure.

Encouraged that they basically played hard for 48 mins. But the emerging reality is this is a team of Nate, Crawford, Balkman, Lee, and Zach. Curry and Marbury are part-timers.

Do Nate, Crawford, Balkman, Lee and Zach constitute a good team? Unsure, but I'm inclined to think not a very good team.

It's just a loss. There were lots of good signs and a lot of the same bad signs. But they play like that most nights and they'll get to the artificial 35 win barrier. Play a little better and they're a playoff team.

I thought the team played well. We cut down on the turnovers and we forced the Cavs to beat us rather than us beat ourselves. The inside duo of Curry and Randolph looks potent if Curry can make his freethrows. Crawford played under control for the most part and Nate looks like he is going to be a solid backup PG for us this year. All in all, it was a good performance against a tough team in their home building. We obviously need to work on the defense and it would greatly help the offense if Curry and Zach passed more, but the teams looks improved over last year.

It was not a very enjoyable game to watch as a knick hater.

They did not play well, nor lose enough for isiah to get fired.

There was just no real rhythm to the offense and the d was bad.

Based on what I saw last nite it seems like we can stay close and win a fair amount of games just on talent alone. But not as a team.

Looked like DLee was the only one who looked like he has a clue. His post game has really improved and I was impressed with his foot work and rebounding. He had a great offensive board and hit a cutting Eddy for an easy hoop.

I guess he gets traded for artest soon enough and we just continue to be a collection of talent.

The game was close in score, but good teams know how to close it out and the Cavs whom did not play all that great really just got it done.

Is that coaching? A superstar? Teamwork? all the above? We giving crunch time moments to Nay Nate now?

Not terrible last nite, but far from saying a "good loss".

The glass is half empty for me.

we kind of play well in cleveland. our players always talk about how "if cleveland can make it out, so can we." so they probably feel they're better than the cavs. and judging by the game thread last night, many fans feel the same way.

crawford always plays well there and last night was no different. but the cavs didn't have sasha and verejao last night and we added zach. yet we still lost. as briggs said, not a good sign.

i think this team wins these type of games at home but i think it's at the point where they have to win these games on the road. they couldn't stop lebron, nobody could, but it's inexcusable to let those other guys beat you.

I'm disappointed.

I'm rooting hard for this team but I just can't see past the glaring weaknesses that this team has. I can't see Curry/Randolph working and right now Zach is just a much better offensive player. I'd trade Curry for a 3 who can play both sides of the ball, but that's just me.

I'm also disappointed because IT has said over and over again that the right people would be playing and it's still not the case. Theres no way Mardy should receive a DNP and Lee should only play 21 minutes, these 2 guys 2 guys that don't need the ball to be effective and would have given the team some defense on the perimeter(Mardy) and just some overall better hustle.

To be honest, I saw more of the same crap I've seen over the past several seasons than I saw anything different from this team and that REALLY worries me.

I voted for dissapointed. we played well enough to win, curry and zach did well together, jamal and nate played a good game, but it comes down to the same crap. some average role player kills us, either it is a role player who can shoot, that we just ignore and he torches us for a career game, or some role player that just rebounds that will torch us for 20 boards. It never changes. I watched during that run in which crawford and marbury lost "boobie" twice for open threes. Lebron was on fire, but we were going to withstand his big game, but when you let some guy named "boobie" hit 4 threes in a two minute span, that is killer, but you expect that from these knicks, they seem to get by on talent, but there is no guile, no djustments on court and no sense of understanding what the other team is trying to do....

It's disappointing.

The Knicks played about as well as they can but still couldn't beat a good team that wasn't playing well and missing key players. For all the talk about defense, they didn't play much and still have the glaring weakness of perimeter defense.

I am extremely disappointed with the play of Marbury, every time this guy opens his mouth in regards to his play he plays even worse. The FT shooting must improve if we are going to win. We were not standing around watching too much which is good. Fred Jones Sucks

Jared "The Glue" Jeffries and Jerome "We signed him to be our starting center" James are injured so obviously this loss doesn't count.

Losses only count and can be analyzed when the Knicks are completely healthy. Didn't you learn anything from last year?

I'm disappointed.

I think others have already said it best.

We really played very well for most of the game but it was the same stupid mistakes for 3-4 minutes that ended up costing us the game. Not a good sign at all.

Disappointed that we went up 9 after Nate's threes in the third and then proceeded to fold.

Encouraged by the the play of Zach and Eddy in game 1 of 82. There were signs of their willingness to pass the ball and at least try to block shots.

Encouraged by Nate as well. Encouraged that with JJ2 or Balkman we could have defended much better and stolen this game.

Overall, encouraged.

Let Balkman and JJ get back to full strength before we make definitive statements that evaluate the D this year.

just more of the same from this team... play hard offensively, but play no defense, & commit some key turnovers that really hurt us (Zach is the black hole in the paint... once he gets the ball there's no turning back, he either makes the shot, throws up a bad shot, or throws the ball away on a bad cross court pass)

in the end, a L is an L any way you slice it... still waiting to see all this "progress" that Isiah keeps saying he sees in this team.

Wow, he's really using injuries as an excuse. All it took was a single solitary game. That's amazing.

more of the same from Marbury- giving up the uncontested lay up because he wanted to scowl at the ref.

I had hoped that Isiah would pull him after the play- he didn't.

Think about Basketball FIRST before trying to politicize this thread. I'm beginning to think you have no basketball knowledge at all seems you only make political posts now. Are we running for some kind of office? Tone down the negative campaign ads Senator!

I voted encourage but unsure...We have seen this team in the past play well one night and not show up the other...What kind of team are we this year???..One good encouraging aspect is that Zack has a presence on the boards when Lee isn't there..Many rebounds that fell to the other team last year Zack cleaned up...Good sign...Bad sign, the guards had to sag off the three point shooters to double LeBron and Ilzas...The threes killed us...

One good sign is that this team will be able to play well if one starter isn't having a good game...I don't think we will be dependent on Curry having a good game for us to be successful...

One bad sign is that with all the talk about defense, we still don't seem committed to it...Too many wide open shots for their outside shooters...Isiah has to leave our bigs to play other bigs straight up and let the guards play the perimeter...Many of the wide open shots came as a result of the Knick guards doubling in the lane...

This team needs to develop a consistent identity...As Nolad said, they seem to just be collection of talent on the court and not playing as a team..

So I'm encouraged because I think this group can compete...But unsure because I have seen this before...
