I think the fans are gonna let their opinions be heard by not attending games, just to show David "the don" Stern who rocks the cradle.

You're recklessly implying David Stern was behind the crooked ref scandal. Why would you say such a thing when he has no motive to do that -- that would be the worst thing in the world to happen to him if he was caught, personally and it would ruin the league. Why would he do that? Would you call him David "the don" Stern if he was Black?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Nice bait KAM, i'm not hungry.

The commish in baseball knew about the steroid issue but the league needed the homerun derby for fan intrest.

So David Stern is exempt from knowing about potential point shaving of his refs when he has intact a security force who watches over that type of behavior ?

He was pretty good following behind players in the league whom he considered thug, but not his own referee's. LOL

I think if players are involved the league will sink...refs are one thing, but to have players involved would be CATASTROPHIC

A lot of players stoped playing the game after getting this long guarantied multimillion contracts.
This is much more damaging for NBA that 10 refs, 25 players, and commish Stern himself gambling on the games.

^Pretty much agree with izy. Soon all of the hype of the upcoming NBA season, with all the player movement that has occured is going to completely consume this. The gambling thing is definitely a big deal though, but I think the fans that are turning away, have already turned away. It's gonna take a lot more than mafia ties (If that is in fact true) and gambling problems, like a strike, to turn all the fans away.

I agree with Kam though. David Stern is no moron. For him to actually know about these gambling problems without doing anything about it would be absolutely assinine, when he knows full well that his league is battling an image crisis, especially with the NFL in the same type of battle. You'd think he'd fire the ref as soon as he realized it and I'm sure he would have. There's no way Stern knew about this for awhile.

I think the NBA is dying slowly... it's not what it used to be in the 90s.

Does anybody disagree that Stern and the refs RECENTLY have taken over a "PLAYERS LEAGUE"? Now look at the results!
