Everyone has pretty much stated there stance on who the Knicks should pick but is sporadic and spread amongst many threads. Lets say everything remains the same and the Knicks are unable to land another pick. Who should the Knicks take with their one and only 23rd pick?

Almonds are good. Much better than walnuts. Almond joy has nuts. Mounds don't. 'Cuz sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

As an actual answer, I think most people's answer would be: because Briggs said so. In fairness, his opinion carries a lot of weight with me. I think he's being overhyped on this board a little, or if he's as good as we're hearing, he'll go earlier. I guess we'll see.

I wonder what we can get for Frye, Nate, Q and Briggs, if we trade them to move up in the draft?

All I wanted to know is, what's this Almonds strengths? I guess I'll go look it up, but you's can still give an answer if you want. Appreciate it. I liked the punz though.

His main positive is that he's a sharpshooter. Something we desperately need. The Allan Houston comparisons are probably a bit early, though.

As of now, I'll say Derrick Byars cause he can shoot, defend, pass and is a great leader. Hes a sleeper but I just have a gut feeling that the Knicks will take him. All of this is still early though.

It doesn't mean he's as good as Allan Houston. It just means he plays a very similar game to Allan. He may or may not be a 20 pt clutch scorer, but he's got the game...

Solace, I don't really agree with you on "If he's so good, he'll go earlier." b/c this is a day in age when it's team defense and shotblocking and post scoring and superstars that wins championships, so I think that's what most of the teams are going to be looking for more than anything else. I haven't really seen the kid play, but even if he's really good, I could totally see him falling for that reason.

The only thing about my weight thatis true is I have to much of it. That being said I'm down to 2 guys who *I* think will help *this* team the most right away and I feel good that 1 of the two will be available. Both can play the 2 position with size and would work well in and 4 guard sets. I think this is the way the NBA is going. I do think Almond will get picked between 14-21. I think the bottom line with Dudley--no he isnt going to win dunk contests but he's just a good tough highly skilled basketball player with good size and let me emphasize the tough word again. He really can play 2-3 at 6-7 with a multitude of skills and excellent markmenship. This is my last selection--this is who I'm staying with.
A.Morris Almond
B Jared Dudley

To me Allan Houston was only as good as he was there to play the game (injuries).

Sharpshooter huh? Thank you guys!

My top two guys are Almond and Sean Williams. Both fill major needs. Perimeter shooting and the other interior defense. The way the team is currently constructed, they might not be alot of playing time for either. Almond might have a better chance to see some light depending on what happends with Frnacis. Q is injury prone so most likely he'll miss some games.

With Lee and Frye at pf, no sure how much time Sean Williams can get. Plus, Isiah seems to be high on Morris. Pipe-dream would be for Thaddeous Young to fall to us but I doubt he falls all the way to 23.

"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.

Draft an off guard. In the 20s, I rank the guys at this position in this order:

-Stuckey (most likely gone)
-Bellini
-Fernandez
-Almond
-Trey Johnson

Why do I get the feeling Yi is going to slip from the 3rd spot down in the draft? It just suddenly hit me!

I think isiah is going to at least try to package the pick with players to get something.

You're probably right. I think there are other teams out there trying to do the same. The question is do I want to start giving up 2-3 players and a pick--that kinds of throws the rebuilding stuff out the window if we give up something like Ariza Lee Collins pick 23 etc.. Just watch what Daniel Gibson did the last few games--all of those highly paid name players and a 2nd round pick rookie blows them all away.

Any GM who bases his draft ability on Gibson needs to be examined, thoroughly.

If we shoot off 2-3 of our main young guys + a pick for a guy like J Oneal--prone to injury and he does get hurt --then you are no where. This is the time of the year where other teams hold you up--where you are bidding up for players. I'd rather be opportunistic and continue to build from within. I would really like to get the shooter we need
