I was tempted to go with both the second and third options. Is this even a debate? Must be crazy.
Will either happen?
Unlikely.

Neither. The team needs real rebuilding. We should be trading veterans for draft picks (not the reverse). Unfortunately most of our veterans aren't that valuable.

I would not do either trade. We have young talent, but it is going to take at least 2-3 years before this team is ready to contend even if we added Ray Allen. Simply put, by the time this team is ready to really make a push in the playoff Allen will be at least 35 years old and likely past his prime.

There is no way in hell that I would trade Balkman OR Lee for Carter.

Knicks can't bail out Seattle. Seattle wanted to keep him so let them keep him till his contract is up.

Nets? I would have a hard time dealing with them. Carter doesn't really fit the knicks to tell you the truth. Richard jefferson would be nice if he wasn't such a prick.

Ray Allen instantly fixes a lot of imbalance on the roster- granted, he's older- I think a lot depends on who is there for us at our pick- whether that person is a strong outside shooter

Isiah does a move like this because Marbury aint getting younger...

Isiah isn't going to base his moves on Steph. It's not about him anymore. He's useful while we have him, but the team focus has switched from him to the younger guys with Curry at the head of the class. It's all about Curry and making this team work with him at the Center. For the next 6-8 years it's Curry and the young guys.

As for the pick, it's highly likely that a SG/SF will be there when we pick. Most of the good bigs will likely be gone by then.

I think Allen is one of two or three players in this league that could lift the Knicks into top 10 consideration. If that deal is on the table, you do it.

He turns what is a major weakness into a strength, and allows the Knicks make better use of their 'non-shooters' like Balkman, Collins, and Jeffries.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The deal I'd look into with Seatlle is a deal to get Rashard Lewis. They have to either trade him if they are going to get anything. I'd offer JJ1, Craw and #23 for Lewis (with a max contract) and #31.

I guess the question is, if you get Rashard here to play the 3, can you play Balk at the 2? And if Lee's going to play the four spot, you'd better get Frye on the next train outta here because he'd be doing nothing but riding pine.
