My opinion on N8, is i love his three point shot, i love his drives to the hoop, and i like his potential to be a pesky defender (although he is not one now). He can shoot, and he can create ways to score. For this, I am not ready to just give him away. But he averages one assist per game so he is not a starting PG. At most he is a backup combo guard, although one who can put up points in a hurry. With the emergence of Collins, and due to the enormous contracts of Craw, Marb and Fran will N8 even play much here? Should we trade Crawford or Marbury to make room for N8, or should we trade N8?

i'd be very happy to see all 3 traded. of course it would be up to isiah to make good trades, which is hardly his forte.

Neither is drafting if people already, and rightfully, want to see Frye and Nate traded.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

they were both way better last year. the problem isn't isiah's drafting, it's his coaching.

Nate is a solid scoring PG. He needs maturity, but the kid can really score at a decent percentage. What troubles me is that his defense has fallen off. He looked like a solid defender last year and this year he looks absolutely lost on defense. If we can get a really good player in return, so be it, but I would not trade Nate just to get him off the team. He has too much talent to just give him away.

IMHO Nate has nothing to do with the PG position. He is a scorer and that's it.

I don't disagree, which is why we needed a player like Collins who could run the point and also guard NBA SGs.

Trade Nate before he destroys his own trade value. Bring in a veteran, defending ball distributor in the backcourt. We have Curry, Steph and Jamal to provide offense so Nate is redundant.
I just hope that people will like me

Nate has that "Starks" quality.

I'd rather deal Marbury or Crawford...

Course all 3 will probly stay caz we're ****ed.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I'd say trade'em though.

We need to efficent players more than we need another Starks.

Nate and 23 should get us somewhere in the lottery.

Nate is a deadly player. He can score all over the court and I think if he were in a situation where he had to be the point guard he could get 4-5 assists per. Best believe also if he were a starter somewhere he could average close to 20pts a game.

He is still a bonehead. So regardless of what numbers he could get on a team that can start him, they probably won't win.

With all that said, I think indiana would love Nate. The indiana coach said indiana couldn't guard Nate and that they had no answer for him. That could be a place for him. Indiana would have to throw something into the pot though if the knicks have up frye and Nate.

Nate doesn't have the starks quality, he is a ****ty teammate, not well liked in the lockroom and is one dimensional for all his talent he doesn't play defense or look to get people involved

No no no... N8 is definitly not a throw-in. Forget the basketball court for a second, he's got gate appeal, young fan appeal for merchandising. Maybe the Knick franchise doesn't need the help from N8 on or off the court but you'd be a business idiot to deal him for a #2 (unless its the 31st pick in a deep draft) or as a throw in.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

right now, his jersey sales have plumetted. and season ticket holder don't like him anymore. the only place he will have gate appeal is seattle.

Nate looks like a distraction to me, but the sad reality is he's easily our best perimeter shooter, and that is something we sorely need.

If only someone from our backcourt could distinguish themselves as better than the others, but they're all these low percentage, combo-tweener headcases who need a lot of work.

Mardy may be the exception. Please Clyde, be a good coach. And please Marbury, stub your toe again.

Dump Marbury and Francis. Let Mardy run the point, let Q play SG, and let Jamal and Nate back them both up.

Mardy
Q
Balk
Lee
Curry

Reserves:
JC
Nate
JJ
Frye
Cato

Play smart and outwork the opponent.

N8 is better than we give him credit for. Would you rather have Salim Staudamire? He was the first pick in the 2nd round the same draft as N8.

last year, he was the only guy who really tried- the effort is there-

Once he develops the other parts of his game, and most are mental- he'll be a solid player.

I think he's shown he deserves to be in the NBA.

I'm of the opinion that he probably needs to be traded for him to mature- something that basically shakes him up.

I'd rather move Marbury- but lets be realistic- nate with his rookie deal can get moved faster than Marbury.

Personally, I think Nate is the worst player on the team, sans Jerome James. He's got basketball skills, but he's a bonehead, struggles against bigger guards (naturally) and is more of a freakshow/fan-draw than anything when he's on the court. I would take any of our guards over him, including Francis. Frye and Nate are absolute busts and I would try to package them together for a late lottery pick before it's too late.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

We can play this game all day I'd rather have Tarence Kinsey who went undrafted I believe over Nate.
