If Isiah couldn't draft we would be the worst team in the league right now, because every trade he has made his been a huge failure. I fully expect him to get an impact player late in the draft, but one thing is very clear: Picks 21, 30, 29. Thats what any real fan with half a brain should be excited about Balkman, Collins and Lee all of shown real promise and each one of them needs to be starting next year if the team stands as is. You can throw in Eddy's offensive talents because those are special but will he committ? Crawford stunk this year you can't be a .500 player every game you play, Jefferies is the worst starter in the NBA, Jerome is never in shape, Francis is a tremendous problem as is nates immaturity, not taking losses hard enough nate is the prime suspect judging how proud he is of himself. Frye is god awful. And we have to pray Marbury and Richardson are healthy to be effective. We are looking up at three teams right now, Bulls, Orlando, and Toronto all of which Isiah has put into the playoffs. The Bulls are getting better and are going to beat our asses for the next 10 years and improved again thanks to Isiah. Eddy Curry is not that good, if he was as some posters brought up we would have won more than 32 games with him and Marbury having their best pro seasons. In realty curry marginaly improved his rebounding thanks to his increased minutes took over 400 more shots than he did in any previous season, is the worst shotblocking, rebounds center in basketball and isn't even as good as Al Jefferson at this point. And we gave up the 2 and 5th selections in the draft. If your happy with Eddy who is hurt that he didn't make the allstar team, calls out skiles for his comments, and are expecting him to lead the knicks to victory. We need to expect the following teams to make huge improvements next year and will be in the playoffs: Bobcats: Okafur, Wallace, May, Felton, cap room and a nice selection. (Will finish the year 3-1 against us) Boston: If they get Odom or Durant they are in the playoffs with an emerging core of Rondo, Jefferson and Greene (We have an a nice core as well with lee, collins, and balkman) Teams we will be fighting hard with for the 8th spot Bucks: will recieve a top three pick and have cap room to play with, more decimated by injuries this year than the knicks Hawks: we always have a world of trouble with them, but look for them to do something stupid like sign speedy claxton or take a player they don't need in the draft. If they get a top three selection we are in trouble I am just having a hard time looking at the teams right now in the playoffs that we will overtake other than Orlando.

Too soon to tell. Our own roster might have a bit of an overhaul itself this summer.

the question is will we be in the playoffs when we owe another unprotected first round pick to Utah (for Marbury).

It will never happen, but I think we should see about sending chicago's pick this year to Utah to fulfill that deal.

Boston is in the number two spot right now, they have a great chance to get durant. In which case their starting five would be.

Rondo, Green, Pierce, Jefferon, Durant
Bench: West, Gomes, Wally

So what if the Bucks don't get the pick and they end up with Corey Brewer, Al Horford, etc, they have cap room we don't and a lottery selection.

Charlotte is not letting him go anywhere where is he going, orlando, bucks, the hawks comon dude

Eddy Curry for two great lottery selections?
19.5pts 7.0rbs .50blks 3.61 tos 58%fg

Tyson Chandler for an expiring contract?
9.5pts 12.4rbs 1.77blks 1.73 tos 62%fg

And Crawford stats for the year 4.5ass - 3.3 to's 40% 32% from three

@Atl 1-8
Ind 2-9
Was 1-6
@Bos 1-6
Tor 4-13
Mem 0-8
Bos 5-17
Atl 3-10
Den 1-9
Uth 6-26
@Lac 2-8
@Sea 8-26

Cha 4-13
Sac 3-11
@Was 3-13
Njn 3-10

Lal 5-15
@Orl 1-4
@Gsw 3-10
@Phi 3-12
Mil 5-15
@Njn 4-15

Yes crawford stunk this year, how many game winners did he miss, and how many games did he shoot us out of?

And something is always said how when Marbury leaves a team they get better, and everyone says thats unfair.

Knicks with Crawford
33-49
23-59
32-49

Bulls with Crawford
21-61
30-52
23-59

Since his departure they added gordon and deng the next year they won 47, last year 41, this year likely 50.....

And this is why we are not making the playoffs because Isiah has this false perception of the guys he brings in and if crawford is not moved he will start over Mardy Collins next year, which he will not deserve. I know we are shorthanded but Collins body, defense, and ability to rebound the ball are more valuable than playing great half the time and sinking the team the other half

I'm not concerned with the other teams. I think that if Isiah does his job well this summer we'll be a much improved team and we should be able to land a playoff spot. As far as Isiah's trades and FA signings, he's had some fairly poor returns on his investments, but not all bad. Steph and yes JAMAL are not terrible moves. Jamal and Jerome Williams for Othella, F. Williams, Deke and Cezary is a good deal for this team. I'm not guaging it by the wins and losses, cuz one guy can't be to blame for all of that. In terms of what I think we gave up for Jamal, it was a good move. Jamal is a low % shooter which is a problem for a starting SG. I can't say that i'm in love with his game. I would love to keep him as a role player off the bench, with a more consistent all around SG as our starter.

I still like the Curry trade despite the draft picks. I think he's gonna get even better and that Isiah is gonna fashion the team around him as we move along. I'll take what Curry gives us and look for the TEAM to be improved around him. He doesn't have to be the perfect center. I just want to see him improve in the areas we all know he needs to. He's already talking about going on a low carb diet so that he can come back in better shape next year. I see he's been taking more jumpers lately and they look good. He's been getting better at making the pass, so i'm very pleased with that trade at this point.

It's tough to tell. A lot of offseason to come. With the line-up as is, I think we are on the buble again. But I'm not going to predict or not precict playoffs until the offseason moves have been made. Who knows, Isiah could get a steal. He could also trade David Lee, Channing Frye and Nate Robinson for Jamal Magloire and then sign Kevin Willis to a 5 year 50 million dollar contract. You just don't know at this point.

You make it sound like that would be a bad thing

Tough call. If the east weren't so disgustingly weak, I'd be inclined to say yes. But with the east being as weak as it is, tough call. Then again, Boston and Philly will be better next season, so it's anyone's guess.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

They were a .390 team this year and all they have to improve is a 20s pick and the MLE (i.e., another bum like JJ1 or JJ2). I doubt they'll make the playoffs.

Right now there are 5 teams that are locks to make the playoffs from the east next year:

Miami, Detroit, Toronto, Cleveland and Chicago.

Toronto is winning the division so that's out.

That leaves 3 spots.

Boston with Oden or Durant alongside a healthy Pierce and Jefferson is making the playoffs.

Orlando and Washington are already playoff teams with good young talent and should be right there next year.

Philly and Charlotte are young teams that will add a top 10 pick. Atlanta and Milwaukee will be adding top 5 picks.

NJ and Indiana are on their way down but have Kidd, Carter and JO to work with.

The East is 2 years away from being the strong conference again and the Knicks don't have the assets to keep up with the other teams. If they don't make the playoffs next year, and I don't think they will, it's going to be a long draught.

Prediction: the 2010 pick the Knicks still owe for Marbury will be in the lottery.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
