I know its a little early for this but fuk it im excited!!! Most people will prolly say they would rather face Cleveland. But I'm not so sure, we have shown we can beat detroit on a number of occasions. (even tho Jamal has been a Piston killer and we will miss him in the playoffs) and Cleveland is playing well............... tough call, but we are only 1/2 game behind Indiana who will prob loose to minnesota tomorrow and surrender the 7th spot.

we still have a lot of the season lest before claiming a playoff seed. but hypothetically we match up better with cleveland. we could stretch that series out to a good six to seven games whereas detroit would be done in five. sixth seed would be ideal because i think we can beat the wizards in the first round as crazy as it sounds.

Not even close: We can't beat the Pistons. We have a shot against the Cavs.

We could sweep the CAVS, They're that awful.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

i would actually rather face cleveland and detroit over washington. I dont like their combo of Arenas/Caron/Jamison against us.. thats just too much firepower for our D

however washington is very streaky. their interior defense is probably one of the worst in the league and they lack effective rebounding, a necessity in playoff ball. if marbury and francis control the tempo and we rebound to limit their scoring opportunitites, they will be exposed which we are capable of. that team is our best chance to get to the second round.

IND and NJ own tie breakers against us, which may come back to haunt us.

We only have it over ORL.

I picked Detroit. As a team with no dominant scorer, I think that if we can shut just one Hamilton or Billups down we have a chance to win. LeBron is starting to show he can take over games to win.

I don't like the idea of having to shut down LeBron to have a chance to win.

Joec i know what you mean. I kind of agree

I think the key for us in the playoffs honestly is having Q/Jamal both healthy. I get the feeling any team will be able to shut Eddy Curry down in a 7 game series with double teams but if we had Jamal i dont it being so easy

When it comes to Detroit, its not about their scorers and the fact that they don't have a go to guy. Its about them not letting us score.

Why are we even having this discussion ? Take some chill pills if you rather play Detroit and think things over.

I think you're being overanalytical. Bottom line: Detroit is a much better team than Washington.

I think we could beat either team, but we would have a better shot against Cleveland because they have only one person to stop. I think Jeffries and Balkman could do a decent job guarding Lebron.

Really, I just want the team to make the playoffs and win at least one game. They accomplish that and the season would be a success IMO.

but you have to factor in experience. this is the most experienced team besides the suns. they know how to win when they need to in the playoffs. true, that they do not dominate a series and will allow teams to hang around ( i don't think they have ever swept a team. they almost did with the lakers). but they play clamping defense and because you shut down rip or billups, don't disregard prince, wallace and c webb hitting key shots. it is all about if they are hungry or not. so far, i see they are so i think they will win the east ultimately.

The cavs suck lets be honest, and if DLee is back we win the powerfoward matchup, to go along with the center and pg spot.

I am pretty confident that we can just shut down lebron, since with have the Lebron stoppper JJ, and let everyone else beat us.

Larry Hughes is like crawford and Curry should own Z, I like it and think we jump ahead of indy

Cleveland, by far.

Detroit (despite Fip Saunders) has too many weapons and too much playoff experience.

I agree with everything you said. That's why I rather play Cleveland. You may have misread my post.

if the Knicks go on a decent win streak & Indy keeps falling a few pegs, i think there's a decent chance the Knicks could face the Wiz as a 6 seed... judging from the games they've played so far this season, that could be 1 really interesting series.

Miami is currently the 6th seed, and we're 4.5 games behind them. I don't see us catching Miami. They've went on the win streak that we've needed for quite some time now.

Our best bet is playing Cleveland as a 7th seed. As much as I would love for us to get 6th, that may be pushing it.

yeah, i know it's pushing it... hell, i'd settle for a #7 seed in a heartbeat... that's a whole lot more than i ever expected coming into this season.

Miami looks like they're going to pull away from the pack, but if you want to stretch it a little further, how about passing Washington? They're only 1 game ahead of Miami, have lost their last 3, and still have 6 back to back sets left in this short stretch.
The 8th seed comes with a lot of kool-aid, but we can dream.
