Okay, we know the Knicks can't have four point guards next year. What do you think they should do?

Stick with Eisley/Ward/Williams, let Vujanic stay in Europe one more year

I say knicks should trade the player with the kiler contract which is eisley. That way, their payroll will be reduced since LJ and Longleys contract will be coming off. Keep ward until his contract runs out. Bring on the european pg so for next yr, knicks will have ward, williams and milos as their 3 pgs. Within next two yrs, Williams/Milos duo will blossomed as the knicks point guards....

By the way KnickGeek, that was a good question you ask to all knicks fans out there..

If the Knicks could get rid of Eisleys contract they would. Face it hes stuck with us. Frank will be the one to go next year when we trade for a big man.

Well, I know we've got some opinionated folks around here

It seems like just about everyone believes Vujanic will be great, but some aren't so high on Williams. I think Williams will be all right. If Vujanic is ready, and Williams continues to develop we'll be set at the point guard position.

I'm guessing the Knicks would start Ward or Eisley though.

(Does anyone think we should start Vujanic next year)

I love the prospect of trading Eisley. But him and Shandon Anderson are two of the most over paid players in the league. It is ridulous.
Unfortunatley it will be difficult to part with them because of their contracts. A scenrio that I proposed before the trade deadline was trading Eisley to Seattle for in a deal including one of their over-priced big men. Seattle needs a point guard and the Knicks need big men. With Seattle making the trade for Ray Allen they have no cap space to pay one of the big free agent point guards. It would be nice not having to take back big contracts of players who aren't worth it, but at least we would be bringing in a player to fill a position of need. In addition, we would have Charlie for 1 more year, which will ease the transition of Frankie and Milos. How about in training camp we allow Frankie and Milos battle it out to see who is the starter, with Charlie backing up. But if everything said about Milos is true then he should be the starter hands down. All of this can be done, but the question remains whether Layden would part with players that he brought in; essentially stating that he made a mistake (which he did) in signing that player.

Layden doesn't want to trade Eisley or Anderson. He likes those guys. That's why he brought them on and pays them such outrageous salaries.

Eisley's not going anywhere, and if Ward is gone next year Howard will definitely be the starter, Milos or no. Now, if Milos develops his NBA game quickly and outshines Howard, then he may become the starter, but Vujanic won't start over Eisley until he's proven himself over time in the regular season as a backup.

Layden should be able to trade Ward in the summer. If they decide not to and wait out his contract, someone else has to go, either Frank or Milos. Or, Milos gets to play another season in Europe, and the Knicks keep the same point guard lineup. I can't imagine the Knicks holding onto Ward all summer, though.

If the Knicks don't get a top-three or -five pick, they may use Ward, Sprewell and the pick in a trade.

Believe me after the season, they'll have a better chance on trading eisley or whomever else on the knicks. As for Frank Williams, i don't think the knicks would risk unloading their #1 pick unless it was necessary. If they did trade him for a big man, he would be an add- on based on his tiny contract.
