Why would you do that? There is only maybe a 30%-40% chance Artest would not blowup by his second year in New York. Why would you trade a potential all-star PF and a solid SF/SG for Artest. Q has a bad back, but I would rather Q for 60 games a year and his good attitude along with Lee's rebounding over Artest and the ticking timebomb that he represents.

I would rather trade Crawford and Frye......

You don't trade players that help you win, for a player you can get cheap, you want to move crawford asap, why everyone in love with a guy that plays like **** or great for half the season is beyond me.

We should wait it out till he is released and try to sign him for cheap, and try to put together a package that includes, Nate, Frye and Crawford for a good player.

Just a hypothetical guys relax.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

If the guy was sane, then maybe I would think about it longer. But I'm not giving up on Lee for that much of a risk.

True, but people did say the same about Sheed...

Ron the body and Ron the mind have long disconnected.

Most important thing is this guy is blowing up more and more.

And, his track record in the playoffs when the stress is highest is really not very good either.

This guy can never succeed. He can't handle the pressure.

I have said it many times on his many teams, just say no to this kid.

He cannot be relied on. If you can't rely on a teammate, your just not gonna make it a winner!

If he were sane, this isn't even a discussion.....But as others have said, Artests' value is low, so no need to include Lee in any trade discussions.

I would give up Jeffries and a draft pick for him in a heartbeat. Not because I like Artest, but we need to do anything to get Jeffries contract off the books.

the 3 who answered "Yes" need to get their heads examined... you don't give up a player like D Lee for a headcase like Artest... a better question would be would you trade Balkman for Artest since they play the same position... that's a lot more difficult to answer cuz Artest is simply so much better than Balk, but you also don't want to give up a player like Balk for a powder keg either.

We're rebuilding. And Lee is our best young player. I didn't have to think of this very long or very hard. We keep Lee, unless we get another young rising star in return who's even better.
