pros: - can hit big shots - has chemistry with eddy - can play both guard positions cons: - decision making - defense he's been a knick now for almost 3 seasons. he's turning 27, with this being his 7th year in the league. moving forward, is jamal part of the solution here, or part of the problem?

pulse of the board says crawford has his supporters and detractors. just wanted to see how split the board actually is.

Im cool wit jamal off the bench if we had a stud SG. But im sure we could not get a stud SG without giving up jamal.

He needs the Barbosa roll

crawford can be that X factor. the guy that can come in and take over a game and be completely unguardable. The problem with him is consistency. he isn't consistent, but when he is on, he is a beast, so either we get a stud SF to give us that consistent scoring option on the wing or we get a SG who can play both sides of the ball and bring crawford off the bench...

Craw can be inconsistant but we've seen that he's even worse coming off the bench. Until we get a better SG, he's what we have.

he's 1 of the few guys on this team who has the balls to take the big shots down the stretch... i say he's part of the solution, but he'd play a lot better w/o Marbury IMO.

This is a tough as hell call. The shots he hits are absolutely huge and he's a good guy, plus he works great with Eddy. Yet his decision making is horrible and there's probably other guys in the league who can work with Eddie, hit big shots and do more. I love Jamal, but I think he works best when he has a coach who's gonna drill him, like a Larry Brown, Grep Pop, Jerry Sloan, so I'm starting to think that he's better off there.

With that said, I think he's an incomplete project, and want to see how he performs in the playoffs.

I think the guy just needs to reigned in, and in a more organized system. He's much better when he's not being a reckless, careless gunner.

I don't really think Crawford can be part of the solution until he learns better shot selection which seems to have regressed this year. His 3pt shooting is almost at a career low(currently .320, career low .318, career high .361), his fg% has also decreased from last season, and his TO are at a career high of 2.79 per game. And I won't even mention his defense.

The thing is good players can play well in any situation....

He is better without Marbs, he is better off the bench, you make adjustments as a player, i would like to actually add starters to our team, and go with the crawford, balkman, nate, frye, bench i think that give us scoring and energy...

I agree with K22. He needs control and a shorter leash. He is very coachable and this should work.

Not necessarily true. Jamal was a candidate for 6th man of th yr for the first half of last season. Jamal is just an inconsistant player whether off the bench or not. As a 6th man, with a more consistant 2 guard with legit size in front of him, Jamal is def a solution. As our starting 2 guard who is relied upon to be constant, he's a problem.

Next year I'd like to see him playing more pt and the offseason acquisition being a big 2 guard.

I would say neither. We have bigger issues to worry about on this team than Crawford. He could be a part of a winning team, but I don't think he's essential to winning either.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I was unsure of what to vote for here. He is not the solution by any means but he can be effective in some game situations. I think it sad to say that an injured Marbury is still the best option on this team. Crawford blows hot and cold. I think on a good team this wouldn't be an issue but Crawford has always been known as a decent player on a bad team going back to his Bulls days and college. I voted problem for that reason. 7 years in the league and 27 years old, he isn't going to change.

Jamal Crawford is a scorer, that's it. He needs to start to be effective, but he is a role player you can put next to a Star. When your role players are asked to do more then they should, it's because your star is lacking.................... who is the knicks STAR???

Solution, but not as starter.

This team needs a elite wing man as its starter with Eddy, someone who can shoot with consistency, someone who can also take the ball to the hoop and someone who can play defense. I like Craw, but unless he's playing the PG for us, which likely wouldn't happen, then he'd be coming off the bench on my ideal team.

Good job, DJ. I heard that when Jamal read this poll, he slipped and broke his ankle. Way to go. You sabotaged our team. Move to Canada you freaking Raptors fan.
