This is my first poll so if it comes out wrong forgive me. Out of these 3 choices, what would you say is the #1 problem with the Knicks is? I know they are all a problem, but I want to know what you guys feel is the #1 problem. Which means the one negative that if changed to a positive would make up for the other 2 negatives.

Marbury...................... I like the guy, but all this mismatched roster/Role players/Inconsistant stuff is all moot if Marbury is the player that went to New Jeresy. Just like half of the other teams in the league.

To a certain extent I agree. Everyone talks about 7 years, but THIS team has been together only 1.5 years and is improving. We have a good young team. It will need to be tweaked and we ultimately will have to trade 1 or 2 players, but it is clear that we have some solid players that are young enough to improve. Hopefully, guys like Lee, Frye, Nate, Balkman, and Collins will work hard this summer on their weaknesses and come back next year even better. And, God forbid Jeffries finds his offense this summer.

It's gotta be the mismatched roster.

No shotblocker/rebounder to compliment Curry (if we're sticking with him).

No legit shooters.

And meanwhile Isiah's trying to turn Marbury, Crawford, Nate, and Francis into pass-1st guards.

Watch that blow up in his face.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

All of the above but it's understandable. We'll make a trade or two, players will eventually be utilized correctly, consistency and intensity will come....in time. Next season they will be better and the next season they should be even better.

Really how I feel about it as well........we have to trade 4-5 by my count.

There's not that much wrong with the team. This team isn't mismatched. Mismatched teams don't avg. 100 points a game! What you're seeing is a young team that hasn't been playing together for very long and has only a few months under its current coach. You can't expect everything to get fixed in such a short time. IMPATIENCE is definitley the operative word around NY.

Isiah has even tried to address our main weakness which is Defense. He's been trying to add better defenders (2 rookies that aren't yet in the rotation) and has gotten Steph to play D! I think it's the start of the process and we have to let some of the young players on this team develop.

I also don't get why there are still fans who have a problem with Steph. I never will understand that. The guy plays in pain for the sake of the team and he's actually been asked to make the most changes to his game over the last few years. That's not an easy thing for a proud player to do. Yet he's not running and hiding. He's stayed in there fighting until now he's actually been succeeding. If not for the knee pain, he'd do doing great, so what's the freaking problem?

The Knicks have an inside rotation of Curry, Frye and Lee. None of those three plays good defense. Consequently we give up too many easy baskets inside.

its really a question of this roster not being able to consistent produce effort every night- now- its almost a chicken and egg question- is it the mismatched roster or the inconsistent effort?

We need to trade Lee for a defensive stopper. Someone like a Wilcox. I really like Lee's game and will hate to see him go but he is the only Knick with value right now. We should have traded Frye last season when he was on fire. The Knicks main problem is they have no established veteran.

Frye has way more value then Lee. 7foot young bigs will always have value. Did anybody not learn this from the Darko and Kwame trades?????? Frye was never on fire last year, he is pretty much doin the same numbers, but his average is down because of the slow start. I would trade Frye if I traded any of these guys. I wouldn't trade anybody as of right now though.

Good point. Lets trade either Frye or Lee for a big defensive PF.

Shot blocking power forward, a back up point guard (tho a healthy Francis could fill that void), and a three who can hit a jump shot and play defense (in the Bruce Bowen mold) is what the Knicks need.

That's definitely one of the issues facing us going forward. How do Lee, Frye and Curry work together as we move forward. Does Lee learn the SF or does one of the three go to the bench for the long-term?

Question number 2, if one goes to the bench for the long-term do they re-sign to do so or do they feel they can start somewhere else and therefore don't sign.

A trade may be inevitable even if you like both of them

These are two things that will become more apparent as time goes by
I just hope that people will like me

The mishmash is clearly a problem, but they could still be a playoff team if they had consistent intensity out there.
