Isiah wants to play with an extra defender at the 3. Is Jared that guy? Or do you feel Balkman should get a shot that he probably deserves?

I voted balkman cause I really don't know how a guy with a functional brain could do otherwise.

It seems like every time Balkman is on the floor he manages to get involved, which is a lot more than I can say about Jeffries. Plus, Balkman needs the minutes so he can keep improving, because he figures a lot more prominently in our future than Jeffries.

I think Balkman already proved what he can do. I also think Jared was a decent signing but isiah clearly is playing a guy that doesn't have it and he is hurting the team.

Balkman is the new David Lee going into the second half of the season.

I truly believe isiah needs to either make a trade now or if he wants to keep these guys together, reward the guys that are playing well and let's really turn it up a notch.

The time is now with the Eastern conference still up for grabs.

Frye and Jared are the weak links and isiah needs to find a way to bring some more players in that can do the job of simply fitting in.

I just think the time is now to turn the corner even just a little to get the knicks closer to contending. The knicks are right there treading water.

Not a flavor. Balkman has been playing well since he put on a knicks jersey.

The proof is on the court and not on ESPN.

Like almost everyone else I was shocked when Balkman was picked. That was the last time I thought anything negative about him. He's a rookie and makes rookie mistakes, but I've been amazed by the way he plays every time I've seen him. One of my favorite Knicks.

Great late pick in a weak draft. Balkman's a keeper even if he doesn't learn to shoot. If he does, watch out!

No contest Balkman in a landslide. If they are going to start Frye @ PF then Blakman should surely start @2 guard---pavinbg the way for Lee to play 4-5 for 35 minutes off the bench. I do thinik the Knicks will stay with 3 guards[which is smart right now]

Balkman with all his rawness (as a rookie no doubt); seems to bring the intangibles we need in a game better than the more polished Jarred Jeffries.

I wouldn't expect for both to become the same player; but it appears that Jeffires is better suited at contributing minutes from behind someone instead of starting...

...preferably behind a hustler like Balkman; unless Balkman proves he just doesn't have it on particular nights; then bring in JJ2.

I've been saying this on the forum for a bit now that I think Balkman defense is really useful because of his long arms/shot blocking ability on shooting guards/small forwards.

I was at the Suns game, and I dunno if this came across on TV (I'm assuming it did) but on one sequence he disrupted the jump shot of one player and after they missed Balkman ran over to defend a Suns player who grabbed a long offensive rebound and then disrupted his shot. I've seen this from him on several occassions and I think his ability to disrupt small forwards/guards shooting is realy valuable since we really have no one else out there who does that.

Balkman is the man. He definitely should be getting at least 20 minutes a game. When he and Lee are on the court, no rebound is safe.

Even when Isiah wins (balkman) he seems to lose (jeffries)!

You know if Isiah were left to have blown it up and rebuild with Ute we would have done very well.

Or lets just say the record would not be any worse.

I still think Isiah isn't doing Jeffries any good by not playing him with the right group of guys but with the way Balkman has shown he can play and bring energy, I think I'd go with him at the 3.

"January 29, 2007 -- MILWAUKEE - The defensive small forward addition of the summer did it all yesterday - made steals, grabbed rebounds, had offensive putbacks, flew in for a rim-ratting dunk. He scored 12 points, four steals had 8 rebounds in 19 minutes."

Could the two people who voted for JJ speak up, I'm eager to know why. This seems like the ultimate no brainer.
