Would you root for the Knicks to lose if it meant Isiah was fired and a competent GM replaced him that turned them into a contending team in 5 years, with the alternative being competing for the 7th and 8th seed for the next 10 years,at best, with no chance of contending for a championship?

I think I answered that question, for myself, in the other thread.

Yes, I'm sick of being mediocre. You can't win championships the way Isiah is trying to do so and I want someone in here who will build us a championship instead of a perennial loser like Isiah has.

It is sad but I did this last year...
Never helped...
But I am a real fan and I will continue to root for lose but each time hoping for win ...
Id this a win-win situation or loss-loss...

The problem is Dolan.

He believes if he hires a new GM he'll have to start all over, which includes firing the nationally recognized broadcasters; firing the medical team; trading away 4 more lottery picks; adding additional sexual harassment suits; hiring, undermining and then firing two more HOF coaches; hiring additional unqualified family members of petulant 'stars"; and buying out the guys Isiah stuck him with who even Isiah wants to buy out.

After Tapscott, Layden and Isiah, Dolan has a right to be leery of new GMs.

Though maybe if he let someone else choose them and manage them he'd have better luck.

Isn't that what hiring a Team President is for? Dolan needs to hand the keys over to someone with a track record for success.

Too bad the President, the GM and the Coach are all the same person here

what would tanking possibly achieve other than getting the Bulls a chance at drafting Greg Oden this spring?

why does the next GM get 5 years when Isiah only got 3?

and how do you know the ceiling of this team is 7th or 8th seed? doesn't it stand to reason that Curry and Lee would be the foundation of any championship team that comes here in the next five years?

Why focus on the Bulls? Somebody is going to get Oden, and it ain't going to be us.
Who cares if its Chicago? What's the difference? We're not even in the same league
as Chicago for many years to come.

Me, because but for the Knicks' pick, they'd have no chance.

I don't think Chicago will be much better than the Knicks if the right decisions are made for the next year or two.

Edit: unless they get Oden or maybe even Noah.

I said no. Cant ever root for them to lose. Isiah just breeds apathy. Last night I watched some of the 4th qtr, but I turned it off after the first and played Lego Star Wars with my 3 year old. Much better use of time.

Also we have no pick, so losing doesnt help us gain anything but axing Isiah.

I cant be that worried.. this group he's put together is incapable of a sustained run to save his season because that requires effort.

I will believe it when I see it

Sadly I will end up just not watching. 4 weeks till pitchers and catchers. Thanks Zeke

Exactly. We need a competent GM before we can focus on becoming good. The point of not wanting Chicago to turn our pick into a high pick... really, who cares?

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

No way in heaven or hell would I root for our squad to lose. But I'm not above turning the channel or firing up the 360 during a game if things are going pathetic (like last night).

Islesfan - crzy poses an interesting question, why does the next guy automatically get 5 years to do his job?
