bottom line when judging isiah thomas: do you feel this team is being built towards an nba title? if the answer is yes - then he stays. if the answer is no - then he goes. the ONLY objective should be building towards a title. not building to making the playoffs. not building to sell out the arena. but legitimately building a team to win a title.

Where is the "HELL NO" option?

I love these polls...They are never geared towards the question asked but toward the popularity of the individual that is in the main topic...Example you ask?...David Lee was voted the best player on the Knicks....

People here hate Isiah..Doesn't matter if he is building toward a Championship...He will ALWAYS be voted against...

No I do not believe this. I was a huge Isiah backer when he was hired and I was extremely willing to give him his shot to build this team but I don't feel he has done so. I feel like Isiah has assembled a few nice pieces but none of the pieces that he has assembled are a player that you can build around and a franchise players is what you need to win a title in this league. The players that are assembled are good enough to keep us away from getting that top player in the draft but not good enough to get us out of the lottery and deep into the playoffs every year.

That's total BS. If the Knicks were 26-10 do you honestly believe that the tone of the board towards Isiah would be the same as it is now?

No because all the hate arguments will be baseless...But he will still be hated and dislike by people like yourself...

I think he's trying to but I don't think any GM under Dolan and Cablevision will be able to.

Mike and the Mad Dog just admitted that they wish the Knicks would lose regular season games so Isiah can be fired...The hate for this guy is boundless...

So you admit that there is a very good basis for people to question what Isiah has done since he's been here.

They liked the hiring of Isiah at the beginning. They're just basing their opinions now on his job here, not for any personal feelings toward Isiah.

NO and I do think you read some of my post...He met about 8 or 9 players that are not currently in the NBA on this roster...Somehow you guys expect magic...Life doesn't work like that...

You can't give a guy the benefit of the doubt when he just keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over, and only has a job because Dolan is clueless

This is a very LOADED question and borderline rhetorical!!! Especially because the pollster is notorious for his dislike of "you know who." What type of response did u expect to get?

Is Britney Spears a slut?
Is Paris Hilton hooch? (I would use another word but I hear there is censorship on the board)

You ask the obvious.

i think he was building toward a championship. he gambled, a lot, and lost out, most recently with stevie. now he's trying to salvage his job with what he's got left: eddy and steph, jamal and the sophs, maybe Q and jj. not a bad group, but mostly guys at least I personally have come to have lowered expectations for (except lee of course). a championship core it is not.

I posted this in another thread- you could argue that he is building a championship group of role players that will become a contender when LeBron or Wade force a S&T to NYC.

None of these guys are great- they are mostly parts.

Would LeBron on the knicks squad win more games than he would on his cavs team? Same question for Wade- and minus shaq out of the equation.

Mad dog has always hated Isiah on a personal level going back to his playing days. Mike was was kind of in the middle.

oh queenie, you dumb bastard...

look at the results. as of this post, it's 7 "yes", and 9 "no"

so it's a much more balanced response than you anticipated.

pheonix did their building over the past 3 years. now they have to win it.

but i should've said, towards a title "caliber" team. b/c it takes some luck to win a title.
