frye + lee + nate + contract (francis) for kg...would you do it? it would leave us with this starting unit: marbury crawford jeffries kg curry with balkman, mardy, malik, jerome, and cato off the bench.

Tough call.

KG would be the perfect Power Forward to play next to Curry.

What it comes down to is no draft picks, no room for injury and Marbury is still on the team.

it's an ALL-IN move but damn, it's KG, who's still a monster. and it's a serious push for a title right now. that team could play for a title. but again, it's an ALL-IN move.

I would say no. Why ?

I am happy with the team and I am content with them building around this young core. Hopefully in a few seasons they will mature and get better, then we could make a play for another big name free agent guy or someone via sign and trade from an expiring deal.

To get KG would mean nothing, we would not contend for a title, it would be equivalent to Denver getting AI, you basically get him just because he was available. He is still good, but in a few seasons he will be on the decline when all of the other players are in their prime. With detroit and Miami (with Shaq) SPurs, Dallas, their is no guarantee we would make it to the finals much less win it with him.
I love KG, but I want this team to be good for a long time, not just 2-3 seasons while he is here.

replace Lee with a future #1 lottery protected and I'd do it. Frye/Nate is nearly enough the pick seals the deal....kinda

Leave Lee out of it... Give them Mardy "Enforcer" Collins if they want another guy.

That is way too much. If the wolves move KG, they are going into rebuilding mode, and moving his supersized contract should be more than enough return. Yes he is a former all star, but he has a ton of miles and his best years are behind him.

I might consider a Francis & Frye type deal- possibly attractive to Minny if Francis might need to retire for medical reasons.

The number one problem with all these trade proposals is this team is just starting to gel and develop cohesion. Introducing a new player, even a KG type, is going to alter this and I think set us back.

We're not like Denver where they were already a pretty well oiled machine before AI stepped in.

We can't, apparently we don't have any............ I know, I'm as shocked as you are, because I didn't know either.

Lee, Curry and Frye are going to be a very good mix for years....... you can't break that up over a slip shot a title.

If KG were 27-28, I would seriously consider it, but even then, I would probably would say no. Frye, Nate, and a 1st round pick would be a good trade though. KG can hit the jumper like Frye, but we will need the rebounding of Lee if we want to make a championship run. However, if KG were a little younger and Balkman had a few more years of experience, I might do it. I think Balkman can become the same type of tough rebounder that Lee is.

Yes. We can fill in any holes via MLE contracts. A frontcourt of Curry + KG is dominant. Marbury and KG already work well together, we know this. Crawford and Jeffries would be good compliments to that squad. The bench is thin, but so was Miami's after making the big Shaq trade. However, in the following seasons, they easily picked up great bench players and made trades that got them complimentary players because they already had the core in place.

I say yes to this deal. A core of Curry, KG and Marbury could win a championship.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

i don't trade D Lee unless i'm getting a young stud francise calibre talent who has yet to reach his prime... obviously we're not getting one of those anytime soon, so probably wouldn't make this trade... same goes for Curry as well... anyone else on this team i give up for KG in a heartbeat, but obviously MIN won't be interested in any packages not including D Lee or Curry, so there's probably no match there.

I'd hate to give up Lee and Frye but I really don't think Minnie would do that anyway (even if the salaries matched up). They're giving up:
26 26 38.4 215-436 .493 4-21 .190 147-182 .808 2.2 9.9 12.2 1.38 1.77 2.50 2.88 4.2 22.3

Past his prime or not those are huge numbers. That's a top 15 scorer, a top two rebounder a guy who blocks shots and is one of the best passing bigmen in the game and yes he can still play defense

We're Knick fans and we know Lee and Frye but it would be a hard sell to Minnie Fans.

David lee with garnett minutes usually puts up

12pts 11rbs

Channing if he were your center, which he would be in Minny

15pts 7rbs 1blk

Nate if he played would give you

11pts 3 assists

38pts 19rbs 5ass 1blk 2stls from the young knicks compared to what kg is doing, i say minny get a nice deal on that one

I would not want to give up Lee. I'd throw in Balk or JJ. KG and Curry would be the most dominant 4-5 combo in basketball. They fit perfectly
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

KG is doing this using one position on the floor - not three - those Knicks stats are from a combined 77 minutes of play. Kg plays 38 minutes a game. So a better comparison is
Knick players 19 9.5 2.5 1.0 2
KG 22.3 12.2 4.2 1.7 1.3

With KG doing his scoring with less shots, getting his assists with less turnovers and playing much better defense.

I like the young guys and holding on to them for the future may be the thing to do - but right now KG is way better then anyone of them or the three of them combined.

But the main point is Minnie couldn't do it because the fans wouldn't except it.
