Nope I would take sweetney and ty thomas over him he hasn't show any improvement and he is a liability on the floor and is eating up space among other things and this years draft is deep so i would rather have that pick.....

Well its a loaded question. We ended up giving them a very high pick (Ty Thomas) & the potential for an ugly switch of draft slots this upcoming year. But, I think Larry Brown made this deal a lot worse than it could have been. By jerking around every player on the roster, he made Curry look bad & ensured a terrible season. In other words, if we were even a 35-38 win team last year & instead of Ty Thomas, Chicago got a mid 1st rounder, the deal doesn't look as bad. Had he developed Curry as opposed to sat him at every opportunity, the perception of him wouldn't be as bad.

I am willing to have an open mind to see if Isiah can turn around Eddy Curry's future...the way he did for O'neil & Miller. And if we end up swapping a 15th pick for a 25th this year, its a hell of a lot more palatable than if it ends up being Greg Oden.

HELL NO.

We've already lost Tyrus Thomas who is going to be a stud in this league and now we are set to lose another 1st round pick, possibly a lottery pick, for Curry who has shown zero signs of being a franchise player.

Its loaded in the sense that if we had a coach that a) did a good job or b) even attempted to do his job....the trade may be judged on its own merits. But we had a coach that purposely tried to F things up. Made everything appear worse than it really was. But, if & when IT develops Eddy into an efficient 19 & 7 guy & turns this team into a 40 win team.....at that point, the trade looks different.

Jury's still out. I don't think Eddy performed any less consistently last year than at any other point in his career so I will not use LB as an excuse once again. But I will say that it's too early for me to judge this trade. Ty Thomas has not played a minute yet and Sweetnely is less productive and has less potential than Eddy. Now I would never have made this trade in the first place considering Chicago has try number two this year with our draft pick but............I'm still giving Eddy a shot. He's still young.
I just hope that people will like me

Purple... one thing: Isiah didnt "turn around" Oneil or Artests's careers. Artest was a heck of a good player in Chi. Young and stupid maybe, but still good. Oneil was stuck behind Rasheed Wallace in Portland. One you can say about Artest and Oneil that you cant say about Curry is those guys were NEVER out of shape. Whatever obstacles they had to overcome to become bigtime NBA players didnt involve the personal work ethic you need to show up ready every year.

simple answer -- no.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Lets wait another year. If he can put it together this year, the answer changes. I dont think last year was a good year to judge him. No one did well last year.

Don't really care about having sweetney back. I thought I'd miss him more than I have. Plus, he hasn't shown very much dedication to the sport. But, those two draft pick definitely hurt. I'll take Curry right now, but if he doesn't show something special this year (knocking on all-star game's door), then I'd vote nay.

You can't really use last year as a good reference point. It's too early to ask this question. After this season would be more fair. This is a no excuse year and that goes for just about everyone, so it's better to use this season to make judgements off of.

no its not; **** curry

He had a critical offseason this past summer and he came back bigger than last year, he weighs more if thats possible. If he worked out 7 hours a week I would be surprised, which is nothing the guy doesn't like basketball and you can't win with guy like this.

Outgoing
Channing Frye
6-11 C from Arizona
12.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 24.2 minutes
Eddy Curry
6-11 C from Thornwood (HS)
13.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 0.3 apg in 25.9 minutes
Jalen Rose
6-8 SG from Michigan
12.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2.5 apg in 27.3 minutes
Incoming
Rashad McCants
6-4 SF from North Carolina
7.9 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 17.3 minutes
Eddie Griffin
6-10 PF from Seton Hall
4.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 19.4 minutes
Kevin Garnett
6-11 PF from Farragut Academy (HS)
21.8 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 4.0 apg in 39.0 minutes

I would do that in right away just to get rid of eddy thats how much i hate the guy

Using blatant facts to support your case doesn't always work here. Larry Brown was the big bad wolf and affected Curry those previous 4 years too.

Purple summed it up well, right now its Curry for Sweets and tyrus. We wont ever know if it was a good trade,

Curry for Ty Thomas and Sweets = Bad trade
Curry for Sweets and 14-18th pick = good trade.

So in hindsite I wouldnt do it. But at the time when Isiah made the trade I liked it. It just turned out that we were terrible. That being said, I dont think that Curry for Sweets (who will be out the league in 3-4 years because of his weight) and TY Thomas is abs. awful. Just bad.
