"If I can say there has been significant progress after one year, he'll be here. If we can't say that, he will not be here." what does dolan mean by significant progress? does it even matter b/c if the team fails, will isiah be able to kiss enough ass to stick around?

Barring an injury, 35-40 wins, and a clear demonstration that Curry and Frye are developing.

Progress to me? 40 win minimum. Progress to Dolan? Drawing more money in sales.

between 35 - 40 wins. I am looking at 37 as my benchmark. And if we make it to the playoffs next year, I expect that to be significant progress by anybody's standard.

As close to .500 as possible, and a playoff berth seems like a bare minumum level of significant progress to me.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I think the benchmark is 33 wins or better. 33 is the number of wins the prior season. 40 wins would be signigant progress.

You know what, I changed my mind. Anything less than a .500 record is a failure. Isiah brought in all of these guys. He obviously believes in them. If a team fully constructed by Isiah to follow his vision of what a team "should be", playing under him can't be more than a .500 team than not only is Isiah a failure as a coach, but he's also a bigger failure as a GM.

Dolan clearly means he's expecting the team to make the playoffs this year at the very least... any owner who's spent as much $ as he has over the past several seasons can't expect any less... i can't say as i really blame him in that regard, although i wish he would have a more realistic vision to build this team over the longterm to be a champion instead of a playoff contender year after year.

probably 35-40 would get it done. But hopefully he'll want to see Frye, Curry, Nate, Craw, Lee etc developing cohesion and an identity.

I voted playoffs because you don't have what I would actually consider fo Isiah to stick around.

Based on this roster with the redunadant talent he has, and the big names and bigger contracts, 43-45 wins minimum.

If this team isn't in the playoffs and playing on the defensive end then I want Isiah gone along with Mills and 3 new guys in here that have a track-record of building a team.

Maybe Dolan just really said this to appease Isiah haters, Brown supporters and backlash in general.

I think unless the team is absolutely AWEFUL next year, Isiah won't be going anywhere.

The Knicks with no coach could have won 35 games last year if there was some consistency and I think next season with Isiah they will do 40.

Significant progress:

Seeing guys make a commitment on both ends of the court and off the court to better themselves for the sake of the Knicks. Seeing the young guys improve their games and showing something that we can finally build around. If this is shown, the wins will start coming a little bit more and closer in between.

making the parts of the team make sense together. developing some of our youth. giving the team some sort of identity. 35-40 wins and all that stuff was what we were asking from Brown, Isiah should be no different.

I could care less about that kind of statistic (The wins) I like Dolans goal. Build a championship team.

If Isiah is ultimately fired, Mills better not pick his successor.

dolan said he didn't expect the team to make the playoffs.

so what the hell is "significant progress"? 35 wins? if 35 wins gets isiah an extension, we're in serious trouble.
