for you maybe... i'm willing to bet you right now that Channing Frye will be an Allstar over a full year before Tyrus Thomas becomes one, if he ever does... to me, i think Frye has the bigger upside... Thomas looks like a nice, ferocious type player, & i love those type of guys, but Frye is 1 of the nicest looking rookies i've seen in a long time in terms of his offensive game... Thomas will be the better defender no doubt, but i'm not fully convinced he'll ever progress to be an Allstar calibre player... if you want an agressive rebounder & defender, just sign Reggie Evans w/the full MLE.

Its more than just athleticism. Thomas is showing a nice handle an explosive first step and a ton of LEADERSHIP out there.

Channing Frye wasnt a pimple as a freshmen and this kid is leading his team to the final four with his shot blocking/rebounding and defense. they are two different players. we NEED defense in the post--we have comitted to Curry for 60mm$ we need a guy like Thomas who make s more sense.

T2 has shot to the top of Givony's mock.

I think Atl takes Roy if they stay at 4.

ignore realgm, those kids over there like whatever is new, and what ever is hyped....

I like both, but I love fryes offensive capabilities and the fact he is 6'11, tyrus is just 6'9, but he is a nice player, I would like both, but it doesn't matter, we have curry and the bulls might have tyrus...

totally agree... everytime a new prospect shows himself in the NCAA tournament, he's the next big thing... it's alot different to distinguish yourself in the NCAA's as it is in the NBA... i'll keep the more sure thing over taking a flyer on a guy who can be anything from Ben Wallace to Brian Grant... if you can get Ty Thomas to add as a complementary piece to Frye & Curry, i'm all for it.

What has Frye proven? that he can play well in some games on one side of the court? That isnt proven. If you cant see what a talent this kid is--what he will be able to do, well you just cant see it. Just compare Frye and Thomas physically--two different specimens--there arent many 6-9 players with a 40 inch vertical leap. the only skill that Frye has superior RIGHT NOW is shooting--otherwise this kid plays MUCH bigger hes 3-5 times more athletic hes a better rebounder shot blocker defender ballhandler hes been an impact player his first year in the nCAA at the highest level. Frankly I bet 98% of the NBA world would agree with me.

I guess I have to refrain from participating in this poll because I never had the time to see Ty Thomas play, and while scouting reports are good enough for NBA players to prepare for their opponents, they are obviously not good for getting a feel on draft talent. I'll watch just the tourney next year and then I'll know basketball.
