this is simple I wont make it complicated. Do you think a Steve and Steph backcourt will work? And by work I mean get us more wins?

I hope so man....they both looked so miserable after the trade was announced....I'm really not getting any good fibes from all this...

i have no f'n clue.

they could drop 50 pts a game or they could get into a fist fight in the 3rd quarter tomorrow night.

gut tells me that one or both will be gone by training camp next year.

ariza is pissed as hell he has to move to orlando. Wouldnt you be? Its not like hes rich enough where he can keep hes spot in new york and get a really nice one in florida too/

aw, poor Ariza making only 600,000+, how will he ever find a place to live? I do affordable housing so maybe I could hook him up with a apt. in Manhattan because I just don't know how he's gonna make it.

I really believe that this trade will turn around this team for the rest of this season and beyond as well. Francis can be a leader, something Marbury cannot.

I think they can work if Francis becomes more of a shooter/scorer and spends less time dominating the ball and lets Marbury do most of the distributing. Marbury has needed a legit 1A or no.2 scoring option since he's been here and now he has one.

I would have picked a different poll option along the lines of "it will work out decently and push the Knicks to around a .500 team"

We didn't trade Jamal (unfortunately) but I assume a lot of his minutes will go to Francis. I think Francis will play hard (at least in the beginning) but even a malcontent Francis is still better in all phases of the game than Jamal. I don't see this trade hurting the Knicks. We can talk about opportunity cost in the sense that I think there were better choices of use for the expiring contract, but I do think we're a better team (i.e., we'll win more games) than we were before the trade.

I cant see how it can get any worse honestly so who knows. I dont mind having Francis I just dont think he is the answer. But he is a step up from Jamal and thats a start.

This backcourt can be one of the best out there, especially if they run more.
Stevie and Stephon can (and hopefully will) make eachother and the team better.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

People make it seem like running is the answer to everything. We don't have the decision makers to run effectively for 48 minutes.

guys like Nash and Kidd hawk the ball and can read a defense in a snapshot. Steph doesn't hawk at all and cannot read that quickly. Francis will track the ball off the rim but he is not a point guard and needs a moment to settle things before he takes any action. Francis is like Gordon, who can run some sets in the half-court and occassionally lead a break. Neither he nor Marbury have the ability to do do what Nash and Kidd can which is effectively run an up-tempo offense for 40 minutes.
