If the Draft were tomorrow, knowing all we know, who would be Milwaukee's Pick? Remembering they have TJ Ford healthy and playing well. And the inside word on the street has Frye as rookie of the month.

I like Frye.. I like him alot, I love his game so far. With that said, I still would have taken Bogut. The guy is just as good as Channing in every aspect of the game except he's better defensively, has a better postgame and is a MUCH better passer.

sht...I didn't read it, I said Channing, but would have said Bogut.

I doubt that misvote will mess anything up though, we just had this poll last week and bogut ran away with it.

Not to say stats tell the whole story, but...

BOGUT
2005-06 Statistics
PPG 8.3
RPG 8.1
APG 1.9
SPG .69
BPG .62
FG% .511
FT% .593
3P% .000
MPG 26.2

FRYE

2005-06 Statistics
PPG 14.2
RPG 6.1
APG 1.1
SPG .62
BPG .85
FG% .503
FT% .825
3P% .000
MPG 25.8

And dont say better on every level. Bogut doesnt shoot the ball nearly as well as Channing. Run the floor as well as him. and for a guy who is a much better passer i would expect more than +1 in the assist column.

I think frye is benefiting more from LB than from raw skill. If LB coached bogut, he'd be more of a monster.

Frye also is from New York, respects Zeke and is playing his butt off.

The Bogut-Frye debate is a hard one because of their respective teams. Bogut playing second fiddle to Jamaal in the middle and getting time at the PF position, right? I thought he was more of a high post player and don't know if that fits exactly with Magloire's game. With Redd and Simmons though the floor should be spread a little more for him to operate.

Frye has been getting his early cause of the injuries. He is complimented PERFECTLY with both the pick and roll and Curry filling the post (obviously with haven't seen both of them together enough).

I don't know. Different games, different situations.

The only reason i reposted the poll is saying "knowing what we know now". Taking into account each players first 10 or so games

I dont care about players first 10 games JDub.. geez, I can't believe we're basing players abilities on 10 freaking games in the NBA. Everyone takes so much offense on this board when someone thinks that Bogut is better than Frye. I love Frye, but I think Bogut is the better player and has better skills. 10 games doesn't tell you a thing.

Yeah, or at least trade for 7 and 16 from Toronto or workout a 3 team trade. I think Bogut's a very nice prospect but I wouldn't use a #1 pick on him.

Then what exactly are you basing your analysis on? I have no problem with you thinking bogut is better. he very well might be. But what is that based on?

and i did acknowledge stats dont tell the whole story didnt I?

Yup... there it is right there at the beginning

I think Briggs is right (shocking to come from me!) that Frye changed his attittude in the middle of his senior year and lost all of his "softness". From that point on, he played harder and rebounded and blocked shots much better. I'm glad Isiah noticed the change in Frye during his senior year. The draft pick certainly had a huge number of critics.

I'm basing it on what I've seen from Bogut in college, who I watched more than just once or twice. Channing looks really nice right now, I'm extremely pleased with the way he's played but I think Bogut will end up being the better player. Is that so wrong?

And what the hell is with the intense sarcasm in your post. Chill out man.

No, and i never once said it was. I'm glad you watched a couple of the Mountain West Game of the week. Not taking a shot at you so dont take it that way... But my only issue with going just based on college games is the fact that 1 how many players were limited by the systems of their coaches. and 2. how many great college players end up being just ok in the league. See Corliss Williamson POY. Again, I'm not saying that will happen to andrew Bogut, but the pro game is NIGHT AND DAY compared to the college game. So I would say that a players success in NBA games should be very promising. By no means does that mean a slow start means a player wont come around, but a player that can run the hell out of a pick and pop is at more of a premium to me than a center with pretty good skills but draws comparisons most closely to vlade divac. That being said, I think Bogut will do well in this league, but when those two have ended their playing careers i think Channing will probably get the nod.

I'm glad I voted Frye then, knowing what I know now...i don't think the aussie is adjusting well to the cold milwaukee (sp) climate.

yeah, when Frye dominated during March Madness, Larry Brown was curiously on pee pee leave from the Pistons! I bet he was actually wearing a Lute Olsen wig and coaching Arizona!

Now this is just a silly comment how did LB get his jumper to fall .514% of the time. Bogut is not a bad player, but between the two of them Frye has the brighter future to me. Just wait until Aguire finishes with him and he gets some real deal holyfield post moves. Frye is going to be a beast working with EC before this is all over

Frye is benefitting from his versatility, i.e., a great touch from the outside, a developing number of moves in the post, an ability to run the floor on the break, and being tough enough to get points on put backs.
