Curry OR Frye was what most of us were talking about. Curry AND Frye is too much for me to give up.

That's not going to happen... Definitely too much to offer. Every egg would be in the basket.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

but the thing is, realistically, this is what you'd have to give up to get a player of KG's caliber. We may be overvaluing our own players a bit here - frye and curry have great futures but KG is one of the greatest to play the game... lamar odom and caron butler have great futures but they were given up to get Shaq... I predict the same type of package would need to occur for kg.. 2 young really valuable prospects + some filler + some picks

I really don't think it's what you'd have to give up to get KG. If the Wolves want huge cap room and financial savings, they are NOT going to want to pay $40 mil to a question mark in Curry. They probably will demand Frye, though.

I don't want see the Knicks trade away their young players. They finally got some good ones, and the future looks bright.

Nothing against Garnett. I just don't think this is the right kind of move at this time.

this is ridiculous. KG is gonna be a salary dump if he gets moved. Hence you give them expiring contracts and take back Wally. You don't rebuild them.

We're probably not the only team in the league that would do that deal. We have to give them a reason to do the trade with *us*

You'd be surprised at how few teams will take on KG and Wally. That being said, if one of them wants to invest their young talent and expiring contracts, good luck to them, but it better not be the Knicks.

What other teams have matching expiring deals that we would have to worry about? It seems like our track on KG is that we can offer cap room while other teams can offer talent/matching contracts?

I am not a big KG fan so, I would say no. The guy only has two more series wins than Marbury. Since Marbury has no playoff wins you do the math. KG is not answer (no pun intended). If LB demands this trade I rather send him to Minnesotta then Frye or Curry. I would not brush off what Frye is doing. What this guy is doing with his limited minutes is incredible. NBA.com has him ranked 2nd behind Chris Paul. So the Knicks finally get a talented rookie big men and now we just trade him away. At some point you have to stuck Star Phucking as Nalod would say.

Teams that could offer expiring contracts to fully remove KG/Wally from the Wolves' cap: Dallas (KVH, Terry, Christie); Houston (Weatherspoon, Wesley, Norris, Baker, Barry, Baxter); Chicago (TT, Harrington, Piatkowski, Allen, Pargo)

KG is a very good player capable of putting his team into the playoffs and giving you 22-13-6.He is not, however, Shaq. You do not trade ateam for him. If you believe that Frye and Curry are each capable of being 20-10 players, you don't give up both. Also remmeber-he will keep you in cap hell for three years. Will a combination of Szerbiak, KG, Steph, craw and Ariza give you a championship---Maybe. Will they win 50+ games a year-probably. Can they Larry's way-probably not.If Minn wants to rebuild they can create cap space by taking on Penny and AD. Can KG handle the NY media-Maybe. Can Steph adjust to being second fiddle? There too many questions to make this Curry/Frye ++++ deal viable.

Teams are gonna have to offer both expiring contracts and youth. You can take Houston off that list.

Why would Minnesota take on Curry if they're supposedly trying to dump contracts in a KG trade?

And why would Isiah even give him up in the first place?

IB4TL...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

This is a silly question since these two players are not even in considered in the offer from the article on ESPN.com.

we wouldn't win a championship by just adding KG. we'd be better off trying to build a championship squad around Frye and Curry.

No potential KG trade would ever involve both Frye and Curry.
