How are Larry & Isiah going to solve the PG situation?

If we don't improve after a fair period of time to make a reasonable judgement this year, although this team may not show significant improvement for some time, part of it may be related to all of our PG's having a SG mentality. I like all of our PG's (Marbs, Craw & Nate) but it's clear why Brown allegedly wanted Snow. The report that Steph requested to be SG and Brown said no speaks volumes about the PG situation. In fairness I think Marbury has played under control, but sometimes you get the feeling that Steph might do better if he was out there specifically to score and use his passing ability intermittently. Brown probably wants Marbury to move to SG too, but Jamal is just not good enough to take over as the primary PG. Craw is not a bad choice if you want a jolt of offense, but not as the main PG. We all know he's really a 2 guard and then Nate is also more of a 2 guard at this point. Both can show flashes of PG skills, but are not consistent enough. Of course, if we manage to aquire some kind of pass-first point making Marbury the 2 guard and keep the 3 PG/SG's now, is Craw going to be comfortable knowing, for sure, that he has little chance of starting at all? He may be coming off the bench now, but he must know he has a chance to start if he plays well. If we get a serious pass-first, starter quality player for the point, and have Marbury, you know his minutes will diminish significantly. This explains why Snow would have actually been a perfect player because he's older, and can't play too many minutes, meaning that he could start with Marbury and then Craw could replace Snow at times, and then Marbury could run the point, then bench Steph for his rest (which can be longer now-a-days), leaving Craw & Snow on the floor. A side effect is that if this hypothetical PG has 3 Pt. range, then that's great, but even so we would have to start Q -- if he's healthy -- at the 3 because Marbury is not a consistent shooter from that range. Where would that leave Ariza? I suppose he really should be a backup 3 for now despite his flashes of goodness, he's not developed enough, and Q should be fine, but he is a bit undersized at the 3. So what's going to happen?

LB's remark that after Marbury we don't have any real PG's says something about Crawford and Nate -- he considers them combo guards at best.

That's not to say he thinks of Steph as a PG, but rather he sees Steph as the least hazardous of all 3.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think a team can win with Steph at PG. He's not comfortable being a pass-first PG (and he in turn becomes a waste of talent), and LB won't let him dominate the offense like he did last year.

So the only 2 options I see are him moving to SG permanently (with a few set plays at PG like pick and roll), or we trade him.

It's as simple as that (again...to me)
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Marbury's passing nicely and taking only 12 shots a game. Maybe you're looking for a "pass-only" PG rather than a "pass-first" PG.

12 shots a game isn't enough! Marbury needs to stick to his usual ohhh, 15 a game. I think Larry really is trying to mold him into that Chauncey Billups role though. Not a PG. Not a SG. But just a guard who will work with his teammates and get his shots. Only thing is, Marbury HAS TO, HAS TO, HAS TO, HAS TO, HAS TO start knocking down shots in the clutch situations and he especially has to hit his free throws. I mean, come one. What is going on here? Our most consistent free throw shooter is Frye who hit 10 in a row? That's unacceptable. He has to get to the line and hit his free throws. I'm sure Marbury will be able to establish this, but if not, then there's trouble on the horizon.

Crawford has been fine. He's been playing that combo guard nicely this year, setting up teammates and he has been CLUTCH. If anything, I think things will just remain the same, and eventually, Craw knocks Q out of the starting lineup, unless he gets his head out of his arse when he's on offense.

I agree. To fully utilize marbury's skills, he should be taking more shots.

They need to move him @ the 2 but have to obtain a pg that can utilize Larry Brown's system.

You will see more changes to come..
